Seems like a relevent place to revive a thread!

I have premium, and have had for a little while. Until I just re-installed windows the other day, never seen an ad on the site, but now I am seeing 'AdWords' adverts (which for me are far more annoying than normal ads). I don't seem to be getting banner ads though. Tried putting on adblock for this site to see if it would change anything, and interestingly, even that didn't do it.

What do these "AdWords" look like? Where are they located?

Well, just looks almost like some formatted forum text, but if you hover over them, you get an ad.

2 examples from a random page:

The first image is the "Selling" in TB's sig that is an adword, and the second image, "Diamond" of diamond member is an adword. When hovered over, looks like this:

Yeah, those aren't coming from any ad code on GTPlanet.

Check for malware on your system; these could also be inserted onto the page by a browser extension.

Ill take a little look. Thanks for the help 👍

Makes sense actually, got windows up and running last night, and was too lazy to get my anti-virus up there and then, probably picked it up in the meantime.

I seem to only get that, when I'm not logged in, whats up with that?

If you're not signed in to your Premium account, you will see ads on the site.

I know that but I get the odd, pop up ads, dude was talking about...
I have run a few virus scans and I'm clean. Is there a known "add-on" that causes this?

You don't have anything to worry about. There are "automatically linked word" ads which I run here, but they are only displayed to "guest" users. Registered users (both Premium and regular) signed into their cannot see them.

The ads oink83 was seeing look different and are from a different ad company than the one I work with, which is how I was able to identify his as coming from some type of malware or plugin (in addition to the fact that he was also seeing them while signed into his account).
