GTP_WRS (GT5) Week 19 - A Heads Up

Hey Everyone,

Our fearless leader EDK, has decided to take a well deserved vacation and a few of us are going to step in and take over for a few weeks. JoostBaksteen, Vaxen and myself will fill in the time.

I will be doing the WRS Week 19 and I wanted to give everyone ample time to save up some credits. We will be driving the Ford GT LM Spec II Test (Race) Car (the black one you purchase from the 'Gran Turismo' garage) and it costs 3.6 million credits, plus tuning parts, so start saving those pennies 👍

One thing to keep in mind is that you could earn that amount in 9 races of the French Seasonal at Le Sarthe.

If you use something quick, like the Clio trophy car, one race can be done in about 4 minutes.

So roughly 36 minutes later, you would have the $3.6 Million.

Seasonal events pay out around 450.000 for 5 laps right now.

Can you get the car from a ticket, you probably can, then again that may take a few tries too. I don't have the car either but I've plenty of coins, so it isn't a problem for me. It's a shame the trading limit is in place as it stops me or someone else gifting you the car.

For those put off by price - run the seasonals. French events + supercar + expert events will net you this money in no more than 90 minutes, even if you don't come first each time. Well worth it.

Sounds alright, haven't looked at the seasonal events since I needed to level my GTP account, only go on GT at the moment for WRS. I'll take a look at it.

Also - run the TIME TRIAL events - they now give 1,000,000 CR I think for beating the gold time, which is a new thing for TTs - the gold time is achievable at walking speed. I chucked the car into the sand at Le Mans, reversed out and still beat the gold time (Stock F40)

So really you can earn way in excess of 3.6 million pretty fast

That might be possible in the Chapparal 2J.

Someone had a video from the GT4 days, where they won a race at HSR against AI in that thing, while driving the entire race in reverse gear. Has a very high reverse gear.

Alright! I just finished B-Spec dream car and had hoped it would be the Ford GT LM II...guess I get it now, anyways.

The seasonals are perfect for this - I think I'm going to skip this week's WRS and focus on making some cash instead.

Myself and most drivers on my list already have enough cash. Can't gift any out this time though, so everybody's on their own...
If the car is level 21,22,23,24 there's tickets available.

If you can drift, you get 1mil from each of those events too. I am totally useless at drifting and don't like it, but still I managed to get the gold score on Fuji.

I kind of figured you'd say that. I was just practicing with this car, this thing hauls ass in stock trim. Can't wait to see what track you pick, maybe the Lemans circuit? Guess I'll just have to wait and see!!

I think I am goig to do the same.
Grinding $$$ on the seasonal events will also give me a chance to get used to driving with a wheel = 2 birds with 1 stone!

I have every intention to try to do both.
HOWEVER without boosting my fundage, I won't be competing in week 19.
Maybe a mediocre week this week to give a full tilt run the week after is the solution for me??

I have a 22 ticket on my GTP account if anyone is having trouble getting it from the Elise event (though in the WRS I doubt it ). Incidentally, I got this car from the ticket on my main account. I blow through my credits collecting and tuning cars so I am excited that these tickets were added. Anyway, if someone would like a ticket let me know via PM.

I'm starting to lose interest in GT5 by doing the same combo all the time (same in the week that is). Last night I spent time with the same car (Takata Dome NSX as it turns out) doing the seasonals, and really enjoyed my time..

Need to start to diversify a bit!

The neat thing is that on the tracks we've done WRS on, I felt really fast and blew out the AI.. the ones where we haven't, I wasn't quite as fast. I can see where WRS would prep you for competition

I might get some time in on Monza..but for now, I'm "taking the week off", I think.

I have 40 license golds, 6 tt's, 6 drifts, 9 seasonals, and a bunch of supercar festival done over the past 2 days, hence the reason I have no splits for Monza.
But I'll squeeze something in by Monday.
