In the event of a field of 13-16 drivers we will disable mics and race with one grid. With 17+ we will split the grid (SEE Lounge Splits BELOW).

Register Here

[dropbox]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46246500/eventGT6_060_reg.png[/dropbox]

(tables will auto update approximately every 30 minutes)

Eligibility

This WRS-Online event hosted by 3D3 Racing is open to GTP_Registered members only. If you are not currently on the registry run the GTP_Registry qualifier and join now!

Registration Instructions

The following must be performed by every driver for every event:
  • Click the registration button above, fill-in and submit the online registration form (be sure to use the PSN that's listed in the registry)
  • Leave a quick note in this thread to let us know you've registered and any other comments.
The following must be performed only one time per driver (not per event):
  • Submit the 3D3 Racing Online Driver Database Entry Form. Your information will need to be verified before you are added to the db and before your ID will appear in the registered driver table above. You can view the official driver database here.
Registration Changes

If you want to change your time slot, add a time slot or update your color choices just click on the registration link and fill out the form again and submit with new values. Your last entry will override any previous entries.

Cancellations

If for some reason, after you register for the event, you are unable to attend please click the registration button above and complete the form again selecting "cancel" as your status. Please also post a note in this thread as the table above can take some time to update.

Delaying or Restarting Race Start

Once the race countdown timer has started, the race will only be restarted in these cases:
  • Multiple drivers report a black screen/hang, instead of the 3-2-1 countdown.
  • One or more drivers get disconnected before race-pace has begun ("GO" for grid-starts, end of formation lap for rolling starts).
  • Steward realizes there is a condition that would lead to an unfair or poor race experience.
Once the race countdown timer has started, the race will explicitly NOT be restarted for:
  • Latecomers, even if you've registered
  • Driver realizes he picked the wrong car parts (ie, tires) or driving options (ie, Auto tranny)
Lounge Splits **NEW**

A more formal formula will be used to determine lobby assignments.

First, every driver that confirms their registration will be ranked using an event specific handicap equal to the minimum(best) of the following:
  1. Handicap from the official registry (driver does nothing, falls back on official handicap)
  2. Handicap from the official time trial (driver included in official time trial results)
  3. Handicap computed using an unofficial offline ghost lap replay
    • Must conform to all time trial rules and be attached to a post in the online thread
    • Submitted after TT deadline on Monday @ 23:59 GMT
    • Submitted at least 8 hours prior to the event start time
  4. Handicap computed using the best clean lap of an online steward observed qualification race
    • Tire wear set to off, but otherwise conforming to online regulations
    • 5 lap race: 1 out lap, 3 timed hot laps, 1 cool down lap.
    • Scheduled with steward ahead of time (plan ahead and request via thread)
    • Completed at least 3 hours prior to the event start time

Second, we will sort the confirmed drivers 90 minutes prior to the race and divide them up evenly. If there are an odd numbers of drivers the extra driver will be assigned to the A room. At that point the stewards convene and assign a director and supporting steward for each lobby. Then at about 50-60 minutes prior to the race the room #s and driver assignments will be published to the thread.

Reserves: Drivers with reserve status at 90 minutes prior to event start will not be included in the lobby assignments, but will be listed with their applicable handicap in a reserve list. They will have to request on the thread to be added to a lobby and the assignment will be at the discretion of the stewards. In that case handicap will be used as a guide, but there are no guarantees last minute confirms/entries will get the room you want and in some rare cases may not get to race at all (e.g. if the room split is such that there is two full rooms or if the new driver would create an additional room that wouldn't be supportable with the number of stewards available). Reserves will be handled on a first to request basis using the online race thread. Do not use the google form to confirm/register at the last minute, but use a thread post instead. If you are on reserve list or not listed at all in the lobby assignments do not join a room until instructed to do so.

Abuse: Because confirming guarantees you a grid spot it's important that nobody abuses the status. If you are fairly confident (80%) you are going to make the race sign up as confirmed ahead of time, but it's important you update your status as you get more information and for sure no later than 90 minutes prior to the race. At that point if you are not 99% sure you should be on reserve. This is a courtesy we ask, not only for the admins/stewards, but also for the benefit of other drivers that have accurately stated their status. We're going to use a three strike rule. A confirmed driver that "no shows" will receive 2 strikes. A confirmed driver that cancels less than 90 minutes of the race, but before race start will get 1 strike. Three strikes in any 8 week period and the driver risks being suspended from the online participation for 8 weeks. We know "stuff happens" and real life comes first so this allows some forgiveness, but we can't manage multiple rooms effectively if we don't know at least a bit ahead of time who is going to be showing up and we can't have people taking advantage of the system to guarantee their spot at the cost of someone else.

These rules will only apply for weekly Wednesday events where more than 16 drivers are confirmed. In the case of 16 or less the situation is more relaxed as the stewards just open up one lobby, all confirmed drivers are guaranteed a spot, and reserves are given grid spots on a first come first serve basis.

Goals of these rules?
  • Creates lounges of similar paced drivers equitably without relying on honor based practice laps.
  • Allows drivers that have improved beyond their handicap to qualify in a "faster" lounge.
  • Allows drivers that did not have time to run the TT to submit an offline lap well after the official TT deadline.
  • Allows drivers to run in an online setup to qualify if they don't want to deal with offline replays. These could be done during any of the practice sessions as long as a steward is present to observe.
  • Allows drivers to fall back on registry handicap if they have no time to pre-qualify.

We hope/expect the vast majority of drivers are covered by their handicap or TT result and the other two options are only used in a few cases each week. Drivers who have not been official processed should take advantage of #3 or #4 or they will be "approximately" assigned based on our best guess of their handicap.

Also note that the above procedures will typically only apply to lobby assignments. Within each lobby there will still be a pre-race qualification session to determine grid order.

Formation Lap

  • After the qualification time is complete a steward will record the results.
  • The system will place all drivers on the grid and begin the countdown timer.
  • Drivers should remain stopped on the grid after the countdown timer.
  • A steward will announce the starting order and drivers should proceed into a staggered formation in the order called.
  • Pole sitter will choose his/her preferred side of the track and other drivers will alternate sides.
  • There should be no overlap between cars in the staggered formation.
  • Speed limit on formation lap is 62 mph | 100 km/h and pole sitter should maintain this speed (or less) to keep pack together, in particular in the final sector.
  • Weaving or other tire warming procedures are NOT allowed during the formation lap.
  • Pole sitter will exit the last corner and take care to give enough time to allow all cars behind to safely exit the final corner.
  • Start marker is the start/finish line.
  • The pole sitter should start the race by accelerating to race pace at the identified start marker (track specific and may or may not be the start/finish line).
  • All other drivers should accelerate after the driver in front of you does so.
  • No passing is allowed before the start marker.
  • Be cautious and courteous in the first turn. Dive bombing will be penalized and will not be tolerated.

General Guidelines:
  • Contact with walls should be avoided. Wall riding/bouncing to gain time will be penalized and/or can result in disqualification. This includes pit entry/exit.
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • Runoff areas are not part of the track.
  • If you overrun boundaries by accident, lift momentarily to make sure you don't gain any advantage.
  • Do not complete a pass that was made possible by going outside track boundaries.
Track Specific Guidelines:
  • Same track limits as the Time Trial.

Standard Clean OLR Rules Apply:
  • Unless otherwise specified, all rules from the original WRS event apply.
  • You are expected to drive clean at all times as if you are racing in the WRS. All participants are required to follow the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules & Guidelines.
  • 3D3 Race Stewards (who are taking part in race, but will review the replay) reserve the right to kick out or invalidate the result of any driver from the Race Room for driving offensively. If you ignore any warnings from the stewards and are kicked out of the race room, you will not be allowed to participate in future 3D3 events.
  • Contact with walls should be avoided. Wall riding/bouncing to gain time will be penalized and/or can result in disqualification.
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • Runoff areas are not part of the track including green painted concrete.
  • Limit your contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Passing and Blocking: Aggressive blocking is not permitted, but the driver in front has the right to choose his/her line and braking point and drivers behind should respect that line. Be especially careful when you are on older tires than the competition as the speed difference may be significant. These events are "for fun" so just play nice and take a conservative rather than an aggressive approach when possible.
Good Luck, OLR Team:gtplanet:

Guess it's time to apologize.

Everything was fine right up to quali. When the race started I was in fear of making another mistake like I did at Midfield, and waited to accelerate, found myself on the curb somehow and totally messed the first braking and hence the disaster. @Meister Fetz , @nico4711 @GTP_Patrick1 and anybody else that was affected. Sorry.

@Iceman220, didn't know it was you and I just pushed as hard as I could, with dead tires and a fried brain.

On top of that, when I saw you pushing still after the finish line I thought I had to keep going to catch up the que behind you so messed it all up even more.

Sorry again.

PS: I also ****ed up the driver change pit, took off some 7 second before the time, so I had to re enter the pits to compensate. Probably the only thing I did right tonite.

My race was terrible too. My eyes bad and if I knew what race in the dark I think I wouldnt do it.

About accident with DEPR on yours 12 lap. I did mistake in the last corner of S3, got back to track right next you. You was outside and I thought you keep that line in the fasted corner. I got inside but I think you moved a bit right, i moved a bit left and got out off track. I am not sure if that was wery bad thing. Anyway soory again. My driving was really bad. You mentioned second accident in the same lap. Hmm, couldnt remember it.
I think races like this possibly requaired more skils than I have :)

Copied from the mixed class enduro support races:

  1. The races will be set to 25+1 laps for LMP, 24+2 laps for GT
  2. The formation lap speed limit is 62 mph / 100 kph and a staggered two wide formation will be used.
  3. There will be 2 formation laps for GT drivers and 1 formation lap for LMP drivers.
  4. The target start for the LMP class is when the GT leader reaches the exit of turn 12 (Warsteiner-Kurve).
  5. LMP cars are required to pit pause for 4 minutes.
  6. GT cars are required to pit pause for 3 minutes.
Important Notes:
  • The lounge will be open about 1 hour before the race begins -- watch thread for announcement.
  • Be on time (at least 5 minutes early, but preferably 15).
  • Regulation checks will begin promptly at race start time.
  • No tire warming procedures allowed during formation laps.
Regulation Checks:
All drivers should be in the lounge at least 5 minutes before the race start time. We will begin reviewing these rules at that time. Once the steward begins to speak or type out the instructions please refrain from using the text or voice chat unless you have an important question.

At the race start time we will begin regulation checks. You will be called by name to enter the lounge with the GT drivers entering first in starting order and then LMP cars after regs are updated. Do not enter the course until your name is called and do not exit to the lobby once you are entered.

Stay in the pits until the system places you on the starting grid and then we'll begin the formation lap procedures above.

Formation Laps:

The GT cars will leave the grid in order of qualifying and run a fast, but safe single file lap to lap the LMP cars. The goal of this first lap is just to get around fairly quickly and reform for formation Lap 2. At the same time the LMP class will allow the GT class to clear the grid and then leave the grid and park on the run-off outside of turn 2.

The GT class will finish lap 1, pass the parked LMP cars and start lap 2 of their formation lap. The GT class should proceed on formation lap 2 at 62 mph / 100 kph. The LMP class will wait until the GT leader is clear of the apex of turn 10, that is the second apex of the Michael Schumacher S and then begin to form up in qualifying order and begin their own formation lap at 62 mph / 100 kph. Both classes should stick to a strict 62 mph / 100 kph speed limit on their formation laps, no faster, no slower. The pole car each class is responsible for setting a steady pace while allowing the group to keep together.

The slower class will begin the race at the start/finish line after their 2nd formation lap. The target start line is the official timing line and the lead car should make sure after the final turn that all cars have formed behind and closed the gap before the group approaches the start. At that point it's up to the lead car to accelerate to start the race and all other cars can speed up when the car in front of you does so.

The faster class cars will follow the same procedure and starting point, but the goal will be to time their start at the start finish line so that the lead car from the slower class is exiting turn 12 (Warsteiner-Kurve) when the faster class accelerates to race pace. That should give the GT cars a good head start.

The final formation laps should be taken in staggered formation. The lead car will take the left side of the track. The second car should take to the right side of the track and alternate all the way back. This helps keep a tighter pack while maintaining better visibility versus single file. Cars should not "overlap" with the car in front of them. No passing before the start/finish line.

Finish:

Between the extra formation lap and pit pause difference the two classes should finish the race at approximately the same time. I'm not sure who will actually finish first, but all cars should have a fair chance to complete the race before the timer expires.

I just folowed the racingline thro the turn. I saw you gå off and did not ekspect you to pass like that after a runoff. It happend, and i just hope you learnd of it.

You'r rigt, the secund time was in S3 the S turns before the straight you went pass me an overshoot the turn so you blocked the turn for me going in. And it was the lap after.

I just got a bit pissed, that i lost the fight with Ruz. I had hoped to get a close run at the line with him. He did wery well and it was great and close the first 8 laps.

you went pass me an overshoot the turn so you blocked the turn for me going in.

It was my first race in mixed class and I havent had practice race with a slower car. Sorry if yours race went bad. I think it will never hepens again if we race with same car (about passing you :))

I got spined in the 3 lap, lost position to monkeywall, was very angry to myself. When entered pits for driver change, didnt wrote time and forgot it :). Spent there 12 extra seconds :). Tried to push hard to catch monkeywall after that, but pushed to hard, got of track in the and you know what hapened later...

I have had good lessons during this race.

I know what you meen. :banghead: I made a great deal of mistakes in the start here in GTplanet and had to learn the hard way. :scared:

You learn as you go along. The most importent to know here, is that there is allways some one who will help with anything you have to work with. Thats the great thing in here. :gtpflag:

Hope to see you soon in a race.

Congrats @Gravitron well done with the win in NA race. @PASM and @Iceman220 good job with the podium. Well done all.

I am happy with my 6th overall. Had a relatively clean race(3 minor mistakes) except one spin 3 laps to go - after Pekka asked about driver change - i looked at the message shortly but was enough to loss concentration on driving. :D was my fault, lost just few seconds, nothing else. Wasnt in a battle, there was no one around so as nothing happened. :) just was afraid to loose spot to Jon :scared: in last lap, thank god finish line is so close to the last corner :D

Cheers guys for a very good race week

The closing of a chapter, this combo can now be layed to rest. Sauber C9's can be burned and CLK's can be put in the wall, if you have that kind of love/hate relationship with these cars

Great racing yesterday. Well done Lesley taking the win in EU. Your pace was outstanding. Could have been really close in the enduro. I felt I was not entirely on top of the car during the race yesterday, but it would have been extremely tough to keep up with you anyway. The NA race was fun too. I was being harassed (the good kind) by Phisher. He got by me after my pit stop. We had a little entanglement at one point, which brought Ruz into the mix at the end. Phisher decided to self penalize, which was not necessary, that gave me the break ande the win in GT. Well done Lucas on taking the overall win.
