Now that the inaugural season of the GTPlanet Clio Cup Series has come to it's conclusion, the time has finally come to hand out the hardware!
We begin with the all-important Drivers Championship Champion: Fantomas40
2nd: nige 3rd: Redwings
Congratulations on becoming the first ever GTPlanet Clio Cup Drivers Champion Fantomas40, it's an honor you truly deserve!👍 And as an additional reward, you have the option of having the #1 on your car for the next Clio Cup season. Once again, our congratulations.
Next up, the Team Championship. This is where teams of 2 or more cars battled it out over the season to share the honor and glory of winning the championship. Champions: Bad Boys Racing

This gives Carlito his second Championship of the season and give Carlito his first Clio Cup Championship Trophy. Congratulations to the both of you. 👍
For those who were privateers or one-man teams, the Independent Championship provided them with a chance to have a shot at their own honor.
This was one title that wasn't decided until the checkerd flag flew at the final race of the sewason at Grand Valley Speedway. When it was all over, only 5 points seperated the winner from the runner up. Champion: Redwings

Congratulations on your first Clio Cup title Redwings.
The final championship to be handed out is the Clio Nations Cup. National pride was at stake, and only one country stood out on top when it was all over. In fact, the clinched the title before the final round! Champions: Team Hungary

My thanks go out to all the people who have shown their interest in this series as well as taking part in it. It was my first time ever in having a hand at running a racing series on GTPlanet, and I hope it won't be my last. I also would like to thank those of you who complemented me on my handling of the series. I truly appreciate it a lot.
As to what I would like to do in regards to the next series? Maybe another one-model series if possible. One thing is certain though, I plan on doing the Clio Cup series again soon.
I look forward to racing with all of you again! Cheers!
NecoArc kinda reminds me of Inuyasha... I had a great time racing too Chris... I definitely be back for a 2nd Clio if not maybe a completely different series using a different one-make car. I thought about building an inexpensive GT Mode based series but thinking about an inexpensive new car is a little difficult. LOL anyway 10th place? Dang! Finishing last every race and showing up was a good idea!!!!! Randy
Hey, awesome races everyone! 👍 I had great fun racing, and learn al ot about the tracks involved! Also, great work to CAMikaze for organising the series! 👍
ps. Would I have been able to just take 10th spot overall if I had participated in the last two races? I missed them an account of my holidays being busy, then school started again, so I kinda ran out of time
Wow..... being 7th overall and 3rd in the Independent Championship was quite a result (although I should have done better.... ) Well this is my first time competing in any race series and also the first that I had some real drivers to race against. Been quite a roller coaster ride really. Hopefully I could join you guys again when GT5 comes out (or well, when I'm able to race) I'll try to be more competitive and give those Hungarians a run for their money.
Ah, good times.....good times..... Chris, I think you did an excellent job on running this series. 👍 We also had some battle of our own (if you know what I mean) As for the winners, all I can say is congrats on the title and have a great time celebrating.
Congrats to Fantomas40 for his well deserved Championship win. It is well deserved. Getting 2nd place was pleasing for me ( apart from the last race where I spent very little time on it and it showed ! ). Nice to split up those Hungarians in the final result.
Well done to everyone who competed in this series. It was a great event enjoyed by everybody I think.
Finally a big congratulations must go to Chris for organising the event. Thank you, Chris
If you're organising another event in the future I shall certainly be interested
Good luck to everyone,
nige
