General Information and Regulations

As with last season there will be three types of race event during the season. There will be 4 Standard rounds of 50mi and 5 Enduro rounds of 100mi and 1 Super-Enduro round of 150mi.

Week starts on Monday, with times to be sent via PM by 11.59pm GMT on Sunday

There is NO HP penalty for joining the series part way through the season.

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by GTPCTC sanctioning body, umm...me for now unless the GTMSA wants to pick me up :P. Any and all questions should be directed to GTPCTC officials (namely me..and anyone else who wants to help out) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manor.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by me for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

* Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
* No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
* Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
* No wall-riding as well. Combined with penalties, this will slow you down considerably, so don't do it.
* All decisions by GTMSA officials are final
* The race track for this season will be defined as the area between the white or yellow lines. This means rumble strips do not count as track.


Qualifying

* Single hot lap in time trial (arcade) mode
* Weight penalty in effect
* SS tyres only
* ASM is prohibited TCS is optional
* Laps MUST be clean, no collisions no matter how small are acceptable
* Points: 3pts - 2pts - 1pt
* 20 second penalty added to race time if you don't submit a qualifying time
* Qualifying will be open for 1 week per round (i.e. Monday to Sunday)

NOTE: All my track descriptions are based on the track maps from the Official strategy guide. So, if the turn numbers don't match up, that's why.
 
First submission, first place......currently :sly:

Ran my tyre tests last night. An overlooked track. Very enjoyable time. Another short week. Son's HS water Polo team is in State Quarterfinals. Starts Thurs night.
 
Got a Few runs in last night, after I was finally able to get to my PS2. Re-did the pre-season race and was able to put a decent time compared to the ones posted. 👍

On to this Qualifying...
As is not posted on the info and it does not say otherwise; I assume we are doing forwards on this track? and using the same settings as the Pre-Season?
I have not found the right braking point going into turn one :crazy:
T1- 27.289
T2- 1'04.8xx
With all that weight my piggy is carrying the exit/entrance of turn 6 is very twitchy causing to either go wide and catch the dirt on the outside or go slow... then going into the loop is another area to be careful...If I go in fast and try to stay fast the turn is very wide, if I go slow then I loose time. Very fun race though as all laps done are all different from the other.
This are my fastest splits but I have done much slower splits yielding a faster lap time by .3xx secs.
 
I don't know what you mean by "same settings as the Pre-Season" unless you're referring to the car weight/HP then yes. And yes, it's forward.

alrighty. Great! :P I still need to run my qualifying times. the LMS was crazy. Suzuka is a unforgiving track and REALLY hard on tires for a three and a half mile course. luckily, I chose not to include it in this series.

Anyways, I'll run laps tomorrow or Saturday.

Submitted a time for GS class, but alas I ran out of time to run the ST car.
Looks like I'll have a 20s penalty to overcome in the Vee-Dub. :(

On the plus side we've now picked all the colours that we're going to have the inside of our house painted 👍 but we're waiting to see how much it'll cost to have it done...:eek:

*Edit* Ran a few ST laps now the interior design consultant has left, but it's over an hour beyond deadline, so they're not legal for submission, so I'll post my best here just to see how it stacks up:
1'32.665 in the VW Golf V GTi '05 with the correct power & weight penalties (-3% power, +4% weight.)

Hey, hang on a tic. :confused:
I qualified 2nd in GS class, and yet I don't get credited with it?
CAMikaze submits a 6th placed lap and gets credited with 3rd place and a point?
Why's that?
There's something really fishy about the way results have gone here so far. :indiff:

Funny thing was my T1 splits were slower on my submitted time than the earlier one posted. Just couldn't get turn one the way I wanted it later in the week. Thought a low to mid 1'27.xxx was doable.

Hmm, well let us know soon. I was just about to start doing my ST race tonite till I saw this post. I don't wanna waste any time racing if I've got the wrong weight/power.
 
no no no no. Do your race, I just mean, that, normally, the penalties are 5% for 1st, 3% for 2nd, 1% for third, -1% for fifth and -2% for sixth. But, since there's only 5 places for ST, I was thinking 5% for 1st, 3% for 2nd then -1% for 4th and -2% for last.

Oh I see. Well I finished up a +8 difficulty race for the Stang. It's weird. There was a TVR 350C in pole position, an Aston Martin Vantage, AMG-Benz sedan, Mitsubishi HSR-II Concept, and another Aston (DB7 Coupe I think).

You'd think the TVR would just take off and leave the rest of the pack in the dust. TVR would smoke everyone else in Sim mode, but in Arcade, it was pretty much the worst driver! It wiped out in turns 1 and 7 almost every lap, and took the esses (bends, whatever you wanna call 'em) way too wide. The HSR-II Concept also made a poor showing. Oddly, it was the Vantage that became my main competition.

+8 was a good pace for me, but the Ai was very agro. Had to keep restarting the race because they couldn't help PUNTING me every chance they got. I might try a +7, even though it's not as exciting of a race.

Just keep it as is. 👍 As people join the ranks, it will fill out. Good for one, good for all. I'm looking forward to the wt penalties to make my presence known to all. Yes, that's me in your rearview mirror guys. :scared: Don't make any mistakes, or I'll bury you. :trouble:
