General Information and Regulations

As with last season there will be three types of race event during the season. There will be 4 Standard rounds of 50mi and 5 Enduro rounds of 100mi and 1 Super-Enduro round of 150mi.

There is NO HP penalty for joining the series part way through the season.

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by.....me for now unless the GTMSA wants to pick me up :P. Any and all questions should be directed to GTPCTC officials (viperin..and anyone else who wants to help out) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manner.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by me for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

* Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
* No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
* Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
* No wall-riding as well. Combined with penalties, this will slow you down considerably, so don't do it.
* All decisions by GTMSA officials are final
* The race track for this season will be defined as the area between the white or yellow lines.The Yellow painted areas at Turns 7 & 8 are in play.

Race

* Single race (arcade mode) 40 Laps (100miles).
* Weight penalties in place
* SS, SM, SH tires or any combination thereof
* Strong Tyre Wear
* AI difficulty is player's choice between 0 and 10. No negatives.
* Ai tyres SS
* Forced Pit Entry penalty system
* ASM is prohibited TCS is optional
* Points for race: 10-8-6-4-2-1

There's a few discrepancies with the weights listed and what we should be running, my Nissan with a 5% penalty should be 1452kg, so that's what I'm going to run. 👍
 
Spreadsheet looks good Viperin. After you paste the spread into MS paint and before you save it. Bring the borders in from the right and below. That way when you move it over to your box acct they won't show up around the edges. I figured it out after my first couple attempts during the TTCRS. But don't go to the extra trouble to redo this thread. 👍

You are correct, I had everything calculated correctly in the Results thread but only updated the points standings in the entry summary, and forgot to do the weights.
My apologies.
I am going to edit the original spreadsheets so that all those calculations will be linked and occur automatically.
I will redo this entry summary list correcting the errors when I get home from work in about 10 hours.

Completed my ST class run last night. Safe to say, that even though TM is an enjoyable track. After the GTPCTC, SuperGT and this week's GT1 hotlap I am looking forward to another venue after this week. Shame no one picked Reverse.
 
Going to make my run at this tonight as I have concerts to attend on Friday & Saturday night and we've got the next SFGTP LAN meeting, probably the final one on GT4 all day Saturday & Sunday! :D

It's a shame Famine dropped out, especially from ST. Are we down to just 3 competitors now in street tuner class?

I'm in. Both races were pretty much borefests this time (ST at +6, GS at +7) but there wasn't much I could do about this. Won both races with at least a mile to spare in both cases.

I screwed up towards the end of GS, forgot to equip all medium-grade tires for those final 7 laps. Was running SH/SM the entire race, therefore. I felt I should do it over, but nah....I'd probably wind up losing my nerve on the 2nd try and get an even worse Total Time.

Sorry for being slightly slow but dialup is a 🤬

I did not have enough time for entry in the "ST" class.
Had an enjoyable Race in GS though, mainly due to copping a DTP when dicing with a Shelby Series 1, then having to chase him down ( the bugger only pitted twice too ).

You may note I penalised Driftking for not having a qualifying time.
It is possible he missed that rule, as he is only a new entrant, so if everyone thinks that is too harsh, let me know.

I will set up Round 8 Qualifying now, may take me a little while, so bear with me.

Agreed on the tables, but it does get a little confusing when you get to the ST class results.:confused:

Mini, Mini, Dodge, Dodge, VW, Honda, Honda.
 
G'Day all.

Things remain very tight at the top of both Leagues.
Who will make the decisive break ?
Could it be this week in the City of Light ?

I think the Nissans will have the edge over the US Iron.
Will GTSail prove me wrong though ? A dark Horse indeed.

That is one smoking race in the ST class PB. Even if I had gone with a SS/SS strategy instead of SM/SM I would have lost 2 secs a lap minimum times 40 laps for an eighty sec. difference.
 
I couldn't submit a qualifying time. But, at least I don't have to carry a damned weight penalty into race 8.

Anybody see the AMLS race at Mosport yesterday on ESPN?

Interesting strategies being employed.
I ran SS all Race, as I figured the short pit straight would not lose too much time with an extra stop.
Did not count on a DTP though :grumpy:

What combo / strategy did you run with GtSail ? Two lots of SH & then a SS finish ?
Good race however you organised it 👍

I think the relative nimbleness of the Cars will determine the Paris result. Not tyre selection.
We shall see.

I had a great race against a Lotus Esprit Sport 350 (level 6 diff). I hounded the Lotus for the entire race from second place. I was only able to get by for the first time on lap 36!!

I ended up winning by 3 seconds over a dis-heartened Lotus.:)

I pitted on laps 11, 21 and 31. I was on mediums the entire race.

My Camaro does so much better without the weight penalty, both in terms of speed and tire wear.

I don't look forward to Opera Paris, because my Camaro is definitly not nimble.:yuck:

I set @ +6 AI also, probably could have manged +7 but I got 195 points anyway so that was okay :)
After a few sighting laps, I would have to agree that Opera Paris will not be to some Cars liking :nervous:
I will be making Hay while the sun shines though, as La Sarthe will definitely be my "Bete Noir".

True. Long-wheelbase cars with long overhangs don't make good for a drive at Paris.
 
Tried & tested non-worn method worked well here.
Used SM/SS tyres for 4 consecutive stints with 10 laps between each of the stops, but critically, as ever, didn't wear tyres to the red point whereupon one loses seconds per lap. "Jenson Button"-style I didn't run "Lewis Hamilton" hotlaps & ruin my tyres after 8 laps then lose the advantage I'd gained in trying to push the worn tyres to the 10 lap window, but instead ran with absolute consistency in the low-ish 1'40s with ease, and didn't take too long to resume that pace after pitting on yellow-orange tyres after the blues had warmed up.
Running to red-conditions in an endurance race where you've fought for 1/10ths per lap up to the point where your tyres go orange is pointless as you'll lose 3 - 7s per lap (track dependent, maybe more :eek:) for 2 laps prior to pitting, thus negating the effects of making an extra stop or running a harder compound.
Doesn't always work though as I found to my disadvantage at Deep Forest where the pitting time saved |= time gained due to less stops & I came in 3rd. :dunce:
Usually I'm not necessarily "fast", more horribly consistent. :guilty:
