Back by apparently some demand for 2026!

Here are the rules - which are almost identical to those of 2025 with adjustments to account for the additional team, engine, and drivers:

  • You have 13 Tokens from which you must select one of each of: DRIVER 1, DRIVER 2, CHASSIS, and ENGINE.
  • You may, over the course of the season, swap CHASSIS and ENGINE once apiece, and you have two DRIVER swaps (whether that's 1 and 2, or either twice).
  • Additionally, you have one JOKER swap, for swapping your entire lineup in one go only; when using it, the two DRIVER slots must be filled with two entirely new DRIVER selections.
  • You may enter or change your team lineup at any time during the season, but only entries received (by PM or post in this thread) before one hour ahead of race qualifying (not sprint qualifying) will be eligible to score in the subsequent Grand Prix.

Here's where it gets complicated:
  • Across the course of the season, I will adjust Token values at 1200 UK time on the Wednesday after every sixth classified race and hopefully tell people about it.
    • Should your selection gain or lose value, your number of Tokens will increase or decrease accordingly; if you have a team worth 13 Tokens and its value drops to 12 Tokens, you will only have 12 Tokens available for any swaps you wish to make. It may be to your advantage to swap before a Token update if you suspect your team's value will fall...
  • If any race should be postponed for any reason and other races occur before it, the calendar will shift up. For example, should Bahrain/Saudi be postponed and Miami occur first, Miami will be R4, not R6. Token updates will occur after every sixth race in chronological order.
  • With the exception of Token 6 there will always be four DRIVERS at each Token value, two CHASSIS at each Token value, and a maximum of one ENGINE at each Token value.
  • Token 6 will always have two DRIVERS, one CHASSIS, and a maximum of one ENGINE, but may also not be used in the ENGINE selection.
  • No individual item may gain or lose more than one Token level in an update. For example, a DRIVER assigned to Token 3 may advance to Token 4 or drop to Token 2 within a single Token update, but not to Token 5 or Token 1 until the next update if applicable.
  • Should a driver miss a race for any reason and a replacement races in their stead, the replacement will score for that driver; note that this will apply if the replacement driver is one who already drives for another team except in the case of a full-time active driver transfer from another team wherein the driver continues to score for themselves in their new team and their replacement for themselves at the original team, with any driver leaving the grid scoring nothing until such time as they rejoin.

Here's how you score:
  • Only classified finishes will generate points
  • That doesn't include Sprint Races which are the spawn of the devil.
  • DRIVERS will score points according to their finish position; 1st place will score 22, 2nd will score 21, 3rd will score 20, and so on down to 22nd which scores one point.
  • ENGINES will score points according to the mean of the best two finishes for each engine, with the same points system as above. If an ENGINE records a 1-2 finish, it therefore score the maximum 19.5 points.
  • CHASSIS will score points exclusively based on the Famine's Adjusted Constructor's Championship* (FACC). This is a simple ranking of each team's second-finishing car, using the current F1 points system from 25 for 1st down to 1 for 10th.

Here are the starting Token values, valid until the first Token swap that is currently scheduled for Wednesday May 20th:

Not sure I agree with Colapinto's tier placement over the likes of Hulkenberg and Albon considering he's the only full time driver to not score a point last year, but you're the boss and these are your rules, I shall not question it any further.

D1: Albon (1)
D2: Bearman (3)
Chassis: Ferrari (5)
Engine: Ford (4)

Edit just to get Bearman's price correct. No change to choices.

With 2026 being a big 'ol ruleset fandango, I couldn't just take 2025's final Tokens (and Doohapinto was a 1 and comfortably so; Doohan was slightly worse, but Colapinto would have still been last) and go with it.

So, they're basically a mix of that and their individual Bahrain test times, plus a chassis weighting. Designated Driver* might have been pointless in 2025 with the abandoned-engined Alpine (Renault was within one race of being a whole RBPT behind Mercedes), but it's got a Mercedes engine this year and he was 11th fastest overall at Bahrain. I was pretty close to putting him in 2 and Bortoleto in 3, and Alonso complicated things but I don't think an Aston driver can be higher than 2 until Honda sorts its crap out.

The one I think might actually be a bit out of place - and potentially early season Token boosters - is Alpine, and I could have swapped Williams in especially given their late start. Applying FACC to fastest laps only in Bahrain would give:

25 - McLaren
18 - Mercedes
15 - Ferrari
12 - Alpine
10 - Audi
8 - Haas
6 - Red Bull
4 - Racing Bulls
2 - Williams
1 - Cadillac
0 - Aston Martin

... buuuuuuuuut Alpine, Williams, and Cadillac were all running softer C5 rubber for their best runs (everyone else did theirs on C4s) so might be lower than that table implies.

With Alpine and S... audi occupying the bottom two spots in 2025, but Aston and Cadillac obviously filling those spots for 2026 predictions, I basically moved Alpine/Audi up into the 2Tk spot and tossed a coin for whether Williams/Alpine would be 2Tk or 3Tk. It should be fun to see if it plays out as we expect or not.

And just to tag everyone else who played in 2025 and hasn't yet entered 2026 (and you don't have to make your team public if you don't want):

Also, please nudge me for score updates and Token updates. I don't necessarily glue myself to F1 these days and I do like my Sundays off, and 2026 looks like being chaos so I might not always be on the ball.
