I've been watching the progress of GTP's expansion for a long time. I've always compared it to one of the largest vBulletin boards that I know of, www.nasioc.com.

Their current stats: Registered Members: 24,206 | Total Threads: 267,409 | Total Posts: 2,773,267

GTPlanet's current stats: 7,992 Members | 15,708 Threads | 405,192 Posts

Just a bit of interesting data.

Jordan - you're catching up, my man! :)
 
The RX-7 Club is up in there too:

Members: 24,256, Threads: 123,081, Posts: 1,181,884

GTP is doing exellent though, cause GTP is like 1.5 years old whereas the RX-7 forum has been around for several years.
 
I've been here a little over a year now. It's amazing to see how much a 'community' can grow. Even my dinky little bulletinboard site is up to 20 something members in a few months. But wait ... I've known all those people for years ... (:
 
www.gamewinners.com toooo many people, members are not even allowed to edit their own posts because it will slow the server down...:nervous:

Ign.com is the worst by far the numbers speak for themselves.

Number of members: 738,407

Number of forums:247

Number of posts:46,072,177

Number of threads: unknown
 
I have been here since Jordan got the VB Software. It had about 10 members before Jordan transfered all the accounts over. It has grown tremendously since I have been here.
 
I like GTP. It should eventually level off high above all the others; it's just the kind of forum that won't die...
 
ha.

i see the next GT game having 50 cars and being 4 times more annoying than GT3. the graphics are painfully slow as it is, plus there seems to be alot of control lag, AI cheating, and unrealistic car physics.
 
I'll be here exactly one year tomorrow, and I can say there's definately been a lot of great changes to the forum. More members, more forums, but the core of these forums has stayed true to the GT cause, despite the Vitz Series.
 
I tried out Gamewinners.com almost a year ago. Some moderator called "The Great One" threatened to ban me on the first day because I accidentally double posted the same thing. Between that and the error messages it just wasn't worth it. GTP is the best one I've seen so far.
 
This is a great forum, and while i encourage growth, i hope it doesn't become like other forums.
 
My people GT was the thing in its day but its time has come and come(again) and gone. Other games have stepped to the challenge that GT placed on games to be the game for a system but only very few have stepped up to that challenge and raised the bar for which other games will be measured. And the "new" game franchise for the PS2? GTA:VC, it just don't get no better then this.
 
Hey if three more people join it will hit 8,000 members(yes i can subtract :lol: ). Yeah i've looked at gtaforums.com and it doesnt seem as streamlined as GTP does. Keep up the good work Jordan. This site rules. I visit it at least once a day if not more.

Wow... to emphasize the points presented, just in the past few hours that I've been on, the site has grown by 4 members... that's truly amazing!

Although, of course, one of them so happens to be a member that we're already familiar with... *cough*
 
This is the latest member, notice that the user id? We've already passed 8000. The Info at the top is slightly out. Or the userids is slightly out, one of them

The counter at the top doesn't include member accounts that have been deleted, but the userid (which must be unique) includes everyone. That's the reason for the difference, but I see that we're already at 8,001 by the counter at the top! :D

I have been on quite afew forums I left either cause they sucked or were just boring. By far GTP has so much diversity of posts it has something for everyone!

Could'nt agree more i.ve only been here three or four month's now

I a member of three other forums that i have been using on and off for a year ..
I have posted here far more than all the others put together
That says a lot about this place :) And no im not a spammer :lol:

The amount of people that has signed up in the short time i have been here has been amazing i think it's well into the 1000 mark by now ;)
