Don't Need One
As i was browsing through the threads i came up with an idea. what if gtplanet was to officially become a Gaming site (Gamespot, 1UP, IGN e.t.c). Not only will Gtplanet have some credibility as a media but they will also be able to get into gaming events (such as the Upcoming E3 2010) more effieciently, in order to cover the games on display and most importantly GT series. I love fan sites and i think it will suck for them (Jordan and Co.) to change it but what do i know! what do you think. Voice your options and take the poll :)

Nah, gtplanet is a fan site, managed by Jordan, Famine and some other guys.
Yeah, thats why most people like it here. There is a reason I have 2 posts on gamespot and over 3.5k here! If this were to turn into one of those sites, I would dislike it alot more than it is now.

good point. 👍

And you'd write all of that content? This is a moderated car enthusiast forum, whereas you're looking at a gaming journalism outlet. Entirely different beasts.

I haven't played Gran Turismo in 4 years...

We got a press invite to the GT Academy finals. Jordan has a press invite to E3.

I think we should stay just as we are.

Please don't make a thread 'official' in any way without the prior approval of the staff.

I have edited the thread title to change this.

GTP does very well as it is. If it became a generic gaming site it would be flooded with imbeciles.

Did not know that, thanks Scaff :)

No! Boo! Booooo I say!! I like it just as it is, there's a nice forum for general gaming discussion here but it isn't populated with the legions of idiots associated with IGN and those other sites.

Have you looked in the GT sections of the forum recently?

The site runs fine as it stands. A lot of the veteran members don't even play GT anymore, we just kind of loiter for the community... and some for the Opinions area (Cough danoff cough)

 I'm flattered, but don't overplay my importance here.

The admin are Jordan, Duke and Der Alta. I'm just a Supermod (same as a Mod, but site-wide rather than individual forums/forum groups) along with "some other guys". I might have a colossal postcount, but it's just because I'm an attention whore.

And, frankly, Der Alta and I are more like "super duper mods" compared to Jordan, who manages all the coding, graphic design, server maintenance, advertising negotiation, etc. etc. etc. himself.

I don't even understand this question. Nonetheless I probably disagree with you so voted accordingly.
