We've all seen the "Greatest Songs" lists all over the internet. How many of them have you had a say in? Generally, those lists are put together by either a single writer or a group of editors. Few or none of them were created by majority vote. I thought that the many users of GTPlanet should be able to create a list of the greatest songs of history. Let's tell the world what we think.

Over the next week I'll allow a time for song nominations. Every user will have the chance to nominate three songs per genre. All songs must have a YouTube link, and a language warning if applicable. Once the nomination process is over, I'll take the songs and poll each by genre. Each of the greatest songs by genre will be polled in the final round, which will decide GTP's pick for the all-time greatest song.

Please identify each of your nominated songs with one of the following genres:

Classical
Classic Rock (released before January 1st, 1990)
Modern Rock
Classic Pop (released before January 1st 1990)
Modern Pop
Metal
Country
Hip-Hop
Rap
Blues
Jazz
Gospel
Latin
Electronic
Folk
Dance
Patriotic

Nomination form:
Song name:
Genre:
Artist:
Release year:
YouTube (does not have to be music video; anything that plays the song is fine):

Nominations will end at 11:59 PM EST on Tuesday, September 23rd.

Nominations are open, good luck!

I wish I could nominate several songs for each category. I chose to nominate classical music because I figured that would be an underrepresented genre, but I certainly have an opinion about pop, rock, etc.

Maybe letting everyone sumbit a max of three per genre would give more results?
