As usual, feel free to discuss your first 3 sector times but please dont mention final lap times.

Just had a quick blast around and got these splits:

T1: 24.987
T2: 46.820
T3: 1'05.689

Ran some test laps too and it looks like the Pescarolo's should do really well here, gonna have to be quick with the Audi!

Just a quick correction to the entry list; I'm in the Pescarolo Judd car.

ERacer 👍

Thank you

I'm pretty happy with my Bentley, that was my first time ever in an LMP at Motegi.

T1/24.967
T2/46.392
T3/1.04.733

Car seems to have alot less wheelspin here than it did at GV (thank god).

Also, I dont know if anyones noticed this before (I certainly hadnt), but on this track there is a real grippy line that you can actually see in amongst all the dark rubber on the inside of alot of the corners that really improves the way your car handles through those corners if you can follow that line. I am aware that this sort of thing happens in real life, but I wasnt aware that this was something they actually put into a track on GT4.

That's due to the fact that Motegi's road course doesn't get much in the way of track action, and when it does it's usually for motorcycles (Moto GP and the World SBK championship both race here). Because of this, the rubber in certin places follow a Motorcycle's line through those speciffic corners...

Got to give props to ya' east; How you're able to get your LMP to follow those lines is beyond my understanding of GT4...

That's interesting. Had not noticed that either. I don't run this course that much. Good catch and good to know.

ERacer 👍

5 lap warm up on this track

I noticed it, it saved my fast lap from being a dirty lap.👍

Well, the GT is quite fun to drive around this track, at least using a rather unorthodox driving style that calls GT4's qualifications as a simulator into question. :dopey: The Toyota, however, is a different story. :yuck: It just doesn't like the tight corners, with its prodigious understeer getting in the way of better times. These are probably my final splits for both, although I might have another run at the Toyota tomorrow or Sunday, to hopefully gain about 0.3 seconds I left on the track.

Ford GT LM: 27.502 - 50.666 - 1'10.654
Toyota GT-ONE: 24.958 - 46.377 - 1'05.041

By the way, a few laps into driving the GT, the rubber top of the left (steering) analog stick completely came off. It had been partially torn for a while, but chucking the Ford sideways into the corners must have been too much for it. :dunce:

Yeah, that's the main reason i didn't choose the GTOne: The wheelbase is long and it just doesn't produce enough downforce to compensate for that (I say this because the Bentley has a fairly long wheelbase as well, but has MUCH more downforce to get it to grip around tight turns).

Oh, and i submitted my times yesterday...

Well, I didn't even test out any cars in LMP, choosing the GT-ONE because it seemed like it would be a car nobody else would pick. It's a fun car on fast tracks, but slow ones like this with so many 90ish-degree corners do not agree with it at all. That said, I did have another shot at is this morning:

GT-ONE: 24.850 - 46.279 - 1'04.829

There are still a few tenths available, but you really have to hit the braking points to within an inch and get the lines dead-on to have a chance with this car. In other words, I'll never get a perfect or near-perfect lap. :indiff:

Times Submited

Ditto.

Times submitted with the following splits:
T1: 28.395
T2: 52.631
T3: 1'13.069
So who is the other driver besides me who has been doing their laps with the Steering Wheel controller? For the record,I use a DFP.;)

Its you and ERacer. To be honest im suprised how few people use wheels - i've got one myself but i'm nearly 2 secs a lap slower and spin all the time with it. Practice needed i guess!

CAMikaze, on public polls you can always click the vote numbers to reveal who voted for each answer.

Hmm not so surprising see the Pescarolo Judd C60s struggle in qualifying. I dont know if superior tire economy will be enough to over come a 1-2 seconds a lap difference in pace
