Will you be buying GT5 and/or a PS3 when it comes out?

This track should be much better for me, although the weight penalties might mess with that. The Ford in particular does not like the extra 57 kg at all, and becomes extremely picky - I feel like I do the same thing twice in a row and I find that one of them was half a second faster. The feel of the car is totally different, and at least at Laguna, "drifting" the car, as I have been doing, doesn't work well at all. Obviously, the Toyota isn't much affected by the extra 9 kg, but it still seems like the feel of the car is changed somewhat. I guess I'll adapt.

Toyota GT-ONE: 16.873 - 32.668 - 50.155
Ford GT LM Spec II Race Car: 18.543 - 36.158 - 54.990

In the Toyota, I got a near-perfect lap going up to T3, and then took the last section so conservatively that I lost fully half a second. :banghead: In the GT, there's also about that amount of time hiding around the track, but I know I'll never get it all in one lap.

Edit: I should point out that, if you didn't remember, you have to keep two wheels on or outside of the first white line on the inside of the front straight, because the game either thinks you're cheating or exiting the pits if you stray too far to the left there. You'll know if you've made a mistake because the split times will come up, but they won't have the blue or red numbers comparing them to those of your best lap.

This is about as much as I can do with the weight penalties im forced to run. I made a small mistake in the right hand corner directly after T3, I broke slightly early and put a wheel on the dirt over the inside rumblestrip and the car got a little slide on and lost a little time (probably less than a tenth). Other than that the rest of the lap was pretty spotless. I'll give this another go before the deadline though and see if I can eek any more time out of it.

Still haven't got a perfect lap out, i reckon i'm leaving a few tenths out on track. I'm finding it really hard to be consistent tho - i've done a few 16.9xx first sectors but then mess up later on :ouch:

Oh well, i'll try again later.

EDIT

Found one of those tenths:

17.092
32.968
50.654

I've improved in both cars, albeit by only .037 in the GT-ONE :banghead:, in which I know I can still go half a second faster, with 0.3 in T1 alone :ouch:, but have had four or five laps all clustered around my best within .05 of each other, signaling that I'm at my reasonable limit. That's frustrating considering all I'm wasting, but it's extremely hard to be consistent here. However, I did improve by over .35 in the GT. 👍 These are probably both my submissions - it looks like it will be very close at the finish between the three of us. :scared:

Toyota GT-ONE: 17.058 - 32.916 - 50.336
Ford GT LM Spec II Race Car: 18.503 - 35.940 - 54.788

With me, Mr Turtle Man bringing up the rear in my GT. LOL

Busted thru a sticking point. Think I have room for a little more improvment.
My hot lap splits are as follows.

Ford GT LM Spec II: 19.089 - 37.182 - 57.238.

I'm using the specs that were given to me Tires RS, 624HP and -1 wt (1118).
If this is incorrect please tell me.

Thanks,

Mark

You should be using RS tires, 624 BHP and 1107kg.

Woah, that was close! Nice one Austin343, great qualifying:tup:

Am I missing something, or did you forget to put up the results tables...? Don't worry; we've all done something like that at one point.

I guess my crappy internet connection didn't load the images and display them, then, because earlier, the heading "Results" was there, but there were no tables. They show up fine now. Or is the dunce cap there to signify that you only just added them? I'm sorry for the misplaced accusation if it was due to my stupidity.

And indeed, it was a close finish. I suppose the weight penalties did what they were supposed to and put everyone on basically equal footing.

I think something was up with imageshack cos for me the standings table wasn't loading - all working now though. It's going to be interesting to see how close the race will be, could be very tight!

That's me you see in your rear view mirror. Pretty Scary! LOL.
