All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by GTPLMS sanctioning body, GTMSA. Any and all questions should be directed to GTMSA officials (namely me ABud) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manor.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by GTMSA for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

  • No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
  • Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts

I'm going to be really slow this week, largely due to the inversion of the weight penalty (that is, for once, I have more than east). I also don't like this track much, especially when hotlapping, and I never have gotten the hang of getting around it either quickly or consistently. :boggled: That said, I do have quick splits in both cars; I doubt there's more than a quarter second left in each for me, but I'll see when others get splits up whether I'll make another run to try to improve.

Toyota GT-ONE: 9.956 - 21.532 - 43.585
Ford GT LM Spec II Race Car: 11.079 - 23.551 - 47.575

Also, ABud, would you mind telling us the number of laps in the race again? I assume it's 35, but I'd rather not do the race and find out I did the wrong number of laps!

Happy that I moved out of the wt. handicap in the GTS class.

Except for the enduro weeks. Shouldn't we be notified of the number of laps after the results of the Hot Lap time trial? Plays into the strategy of guessing the upcoming race parameters and how we will run it. I've already made my guess. Hope it's right.

Ditto with east. I had forgotten how enjoyable this track was/is. Plenty of places for a beach party if you slip up here. Ran test scenarios last night on all tires and both classes. Could do it in my sleep. Which should help when we get the number of laps next Monday.

I'm only going to post the number of laps up early for the Enduro rounds, just part of the rules i'm affraid ;). Think i'll have a go at this now so we'll see what splits i get.

T1: 9.940
T2: 21.488
T3: 43.527

East, I can't for the life of me work out how you're 0.4 secs quicker in T3! It's only 2 corners and i've tried every line i can but with no joy :banghead:

Maybe try again tomorrow 👍

That's fair enough, ABud. I think I may start an all A-Spec 24 hour race tomorrow (for 200 points), so I assumed my guess was right and had a GTS run just now. If I got it wrong, there's a chance I will be done by Sunday, but if not, I suppose I'll just get no race points this round. I don't think that would seriously affect my final championship results, since I have a cushion in GTS and know I would lose to east regardless of how I do in this race.

I think he's back in his element.

You can write "Formerly known as Mark Bodnar" or something like that in your signature if you'd like to eliminate any confusion. 👍

I improved more than I thought I could in LMP, and there's still more there, but I can never get that stupid start-T2 section right. :banghead: These will be my final splits, I'm sure; if I'm lucky, I might be able to scrape together a second place from this, but the car is too understeery (and simply slowed down, as well, of course) with the extra weight to have any hope of getting near east's time.

Toyota GT-ONE: 10.028 - 21.525 - 43.367

Austin, don't forget the entry date for the race will be 28th June, so you have all next week to do the races.

Whoops, I wasn't clear at all. When I said Sunday, I meant next Sunday, the deadline for the races.

I also did an LMP run and was very happy with it. I'm still not sure I can do better than third, but I at least have an outside chance.

This combo is fun!!! 👍
I'm pleased with my first sector/T1 but there is more time left after that...
11.049
23.852
48.175

Following T's are without using R2. Just wanted to work on lines.

GTS - 11.413 - 24.623 - 49.918

LMP - 10.580 - 22.894 - 46.648

Still faster driving AT. Hardest part of learning MT for me is keeping my lines when up and down shifting. Any advice or links would be appreciated.

Stick at it, it will come. Also try shifting gears when the engine sounds ready rather than looking at the revs, that way you can keep concentrating on the track.

One of the best things about MT is that if you're understeering wide you can short shift the gears and get a little bit of oversteer so you don't need to drop the throttle.

Did my first Qualifying run earlier today in the Camaro and this is how the splits for best lap turned out...
T1: 11.237
T2: 24.516
T3: 49.704

Made some improvement from T3 to the finish. 👍
Still working on Turns 3-5.:banghead:
T1:11.104
T2:23.795
T3:47.835

Sent the time I got with the splits I posted. I hope its gonna be quick enough, because I went faster than it twice, but both times I got the "red swirly thing of doom" on the loading screens and wasnt able to save them :(

Still more left for improvement.

LMP: 10.562 - 22.640 - 45.749. Way wide at T1.

T's for latest GTS all slower but faster overall Hotlap. Go figure.

ABud, listening to determine when to shift is probably ideal, but I know that I watch the RPM and digital part of the speedometer quite a lot and mostly use that to upshift, so I don't know that looking at the tachometer to shift actually redirects your attention from the track very much.

east, I think you're too modest sometimes (all the time?). "I hope its gonna be quick enough" really isn't relevant with your speed in general and with the splits you posted. The Disk Read Error is a bad sign, though, and I hope it doesn't prevent you from saving your race replay.

Fortunately for me, if I've gotten the number of laps wrong in the race, it looks like I will indeed have plenty of time to do reruns in both classes. I'm blasting through my 24 hour race much faster than I expected, at a rate of nearly four hours per day, and am halfway done, so I should be finished by midweek. I do hope I don't have to redo them, though.

Just ran a faster lap time that I just submitted.
T1: 11.379
T2: 24.406
T3: 49.211

All this work and I still can't buy a point. I quit......................... right after Fuji. LOL.

Now to wait and see if we all guessed the right number of laps.

Please be 3?.
