Well, the Shotgun Racing team had an interesting week.

GT had the team down from the get-go. The BMW M3 was blistering quick in the corners, but that aerodynamically-challenged front fascia had the car at least 10 mph slower through most of the track. Still, reliability and GREAT tire strategy, we at least finished the race.

GTS had the lone Snake take a bite out of DrewpyBalls' attempt at a 1-2 finish. With the 2nd place finish, we moved into 2nd place in GTS (hooray!)

P2 gave us a win. YEAY! A great win for Shotgun Racing, Intersport and Pescarolo. Also gave us the leads in Driver's AND Manufacturer's Championships.

P1 saw Shotgun Racings first win, albiet under bad circumstances. With the penalty on RACECAR for late submission, the Stewards handed the win to Shotgun Racing, who was running down 50hp all week, and possibly the rest of the season.

All in all, a GREAT trip for Shotgun Racing. Hopefully we can keep that momentum through Apricot Hill.

Considering.......

I was happy with the quali lap in the Mac, but knew that the race was slow.
I was happy with the race in the RX, but not with the quali........

My gut, tho Homer-esk in appearence, was fairly accurate.

Well done to all those that managed to finish these gruelling but (for the most part) enjoyable races!
Especially my team-mate Andy:cheers:
And of course the other podium sitters!

And DrewpyBalls' grip on the GT and GTS classes is tightening.

It is inevitable!

It's Great to see my name finally make it into the Top 6! :D

On to Apricot Hill! ;)

Hi everyone!
That was my last appereance in the LMS.There is no use to carry on "racing" in this car (exactly this is a big bucket with full of ****).At the start line I am minimum 20 seconds behind the RX-7's without going an inch on the track and I have the possibility to fight for the 4th-5th-6th place.Thank you very much.
It's not my style to leave a serie, but now I'm gone.
Bye-bye!

I like how you were on pole by err... nearly three seconds! You finished the longest race of the year behind by a mere two minutes! If you ask me, there is no reason to quit. Not to mention your esteemed lead steward has already shown he is willing to make changes to benefit the series-to benefit drivers not part of the DrewpyBalls OAP Comedy Racing Team. The bottom line is, these cars are setup because ICallShotgun determined that with equal drivers behind the wheel of each car they would be competitive. Unfortunately, everyone isn't the same driver so you may need some help and the RX-7's may need to be handicapped some in race trim. However, that is not how I see it. You were really close in race trim. It is a matter of finding as darn near perfection as you can. Same with with JGTC, which I believe you have competed in in the past, and will be competing in in the future. Maybe the car doesn't suit you in this series. Frankly I am flabbergasted at the thought of you leaving the series. You dropped your P1 ride for a good reason (I'm assuming) and barring it was because you just didn't have the time to run, what would be three cars (P1, GT2, and JGTC) let alone two-wouldn't one less car give you more time in another er... maybe your GT2 car? I just don't understand why you are quiting. It isn't my business and if this bothered you, well this is just my opinion so get over it. I'm an over-opinionated self-proclaimed genius, who by no means has the right to tell anyone "what's what." I just don't see how, with you being so very fast, that you would quit just because your efforts haven't amounted in a race win yet. You know what happens 99% of the time in the REAL WORLD? You don't win! You can do all you can, and it would seem your number will never be called. GTPlanet, and GT4 don't provide 100% realistic circumstances, but the competition here is very real (something GTPlanet, and its competitors, pride themselves on). So hey, quit. But I just don't see what would draw you to do this. You know what? I don't have all the information. I am not sitting with you while you slave for hours on end trying to get your qualifications and races done in the allotted time allowed for you, not by 'Gun, by YOURSELF! If you are quiting because you just don't have the time to run and you feel JGTC is "the one" by all means, get racing in the JGTC. If you are leaving because you are fed up with not winning, check your ego at the door please. Check your ego at the door. The one thing that really set me off with this post was
GTXDriver

I don't doubt that you have had these experiences in the series. But this weekend "at the start line" you were two seconds ahead of the lead RX-7 MINIMUM!! This could be the weekend where it all starts turning around for you. Maybe it is just my character but, as of right now I can see no reason to leave. (Not to pick on oldphart - and please beat me to within an inch of my life if I am out of place saying this) He has struggled in the JGTC in the past. He could have up-n-left at any point. Using excuses, the car is bad, the other cars have an advantage, etc. But you know what, even if it wasn't the case (which IMO, at certain races I think he just drew the short straw because of his car; see every LMS race for that matter... I've driven the GT, he is third in points, he must be a magician!) but he made a commitment, and has many a time stated that when he says he is going to do something he does it. If keeping your word isn't motivation enough to stick around then I guess we are very different people.

By no means was this an attack thread, or a pick-on-you thread. I just don't see why, of all times, NOW you would announce your... retirement if you will. This is coming off of a pole and a podium? Admittedly a thin field, but this is against the (now an obvious powerhouse) team of DrewpyBalls!! I just don't get it. I'm not an admin, but if I were I'd be a little offended by this sudden retirement. Of course, for that reason I probably wouldn't make a good admin! lol

Regards,

Congrats Gun and Drew on the wins .. and well done for those on the podium .. Del was surprised with 2nd in P1  .. it was a very frustrating race , but he still enjoyed every minute 👍

Gotta say turn 13 is my favourite corner on any track ...

Hi Jonerz!
First of all: thank you for the kind words and for trying to keep the faith in me.
About the leaving, please ask oldphart. He's not my teammate this time, but in the DTM we were close enough to quitting at least two times. But we said "hey,we gave our words, let's go and carry on for the team and for our teammate!".We did it for the other guy,if you know what I mean.Doesn't matter how many points or wins have been lost,if J.R. told me once to leave then I take my baggage and bye.So this is a different story and it is not about my ego...
I tried to be good enough here for a podium. As you said,99 % fo the time in life you don't win.I accept that, that's right. But there is a point in every case where you need to think about what is the price you are paying for being in a series and what this series can give you.Now the things tend to negative range in my case.I put in a lot of time and can't get back anything...
Well, that's not the whole thruth.I have a terrible pain in my fingertips because I tried too hard to controll my Mazda on my DS2 and sometimes a headache from the lack of sleeping because I need time to race and this racing thing can go after I finished with my work in RL.
But you reached one thing: I give some time for myself to think again my participation in LMS...
Maybe once I'll be beholden to you,Jonerz.👍

Hey, Thumbs up:tup: to all of you. I mean everybody who turned a wheel in these events for this 'Round'. There were no losers! To put in the kind of effort all of you invested to test, race, qualify and then do it all over again....and again...and again.....everyone deserves congradulations on their hard work alone. That's the "hard stuff" in racing, and everyone.....even those who are disappointed in the results, are winners!

My times were terrible, but they reflect the limited effort I was able to invest. They may have been awful, even if I'd invested more time. For me, I'm happy because, "I lived to race another day"...so I'm looking foward and leaving the past behind.

And, if anyone thinks that I'm playing the "sacrificial lamb" for the next race.....remember, "...beware of wolves in 'sheeps clothing'".

See you all at the next race.👍

man, if I didn't have a penalty, I would have won, but the circumstances of weather here in texas slowed me down. oh well, I did manage to ge the fastest time out of all the P1 Cars at least so looks like I'm getting Faster.

What tires did you used to this 3'08.000 lap?
And what could be your qualifying lap?
Yes, I would like to know the answers to these questions aswell RACECAR, and what was your pit strategy?

Yes, I would like to know the answers to these questions aswell RACECAR, and what was your pit strategy?

I had planned out the laps that the tires would be worn out based on practice I did two rounds ago and kept them for this round. when it came time to end my stint, I let loose my B-spec Driver Timo Mullen and started him off at pushing, then at halfway at his stint, I had him switch fast to conserve tires. fuel wasn't put in till the second to last Pit stop. hope that answers your question:) .

BTW, this is my 1000th post.

I think they were asking for what tires you used, when you pitted, etc. Pit schedule.

And guys, if you notice, his overall time was good enough for 1st overall, but because of a late time submission, he was bumped to 3rd.

oh, well I pitted in on Lap 6, 12, and 18. I used a Medium Hard Combination since the BMW often had a tendency to eat up the rears Fast.

@RACECAR: Did you remember to give Bob a run? If you did he'd of ran 6 laps by your strategy. And 6 laps on hard rears? what where your Power and Weight setting?

Power: 904 Weight: 936

pretty much the same specs. as I stated in an earlier post, I praticed this two rounds before.
