Time sent.
It seems that everyone race the Clio this week.If it is so,hopefully I will score many-many points. :)
I wasn't in good shape and was not confident with the car in Monaco...

Just so you know there are some of us taking part in this series who a holding our cards close to the vest for this round.;) Little gambling reference there if you spotted it.:D

Also, I thought Shotgun was going to reserve the post after the Race Announcment in this thread for the results.

Times sent .. not at all confident .. can't wait for the next race ... wherever it is .

Well, Im on holiday next week,
so I dont think Ill be able to qualify for the next round...

Both times sent! Fingers crossed, I think I did OK.

Beat my quali times in both cars!

Neil

I want them all!!!
NOW!!!
You forgot to add "If not sooner!":dopey:

OBTW, did any of the drivers in the GT1 and/or PRO classes feel like their cars were like going around the track like a pinball in a pinball machine with all the near bumping off of the cars and walls like I did? Even T-boned a McLaren F1 by surprise as I was zooming - @ 40-something MPH - through the corner near pit entrance at about Lap 6 in GT2.:grumpy: Sad part about it is my GT2 and GT1 times include drive-thru penalties and I wanted a clean run in both those classes.:indiff:

sorry guys, had a rough weekend. results are up now.

10 hours sleep in 4 days, a weekend as course marshal, and party w/ the groom-to-be makes for a LONGweekend.

Yes! Same thing happened to me in GT1. The McLaren had apparently crashed into the wall before the pits and was doing the reverse-stop-forward-stop-reverse thing and, like you described, my Ford T-boned the McLaren on lap 6. Made me slow down on lap 12 & 18 at that turn more than I normally would, but never saw him again.

SammiTougeGirl #99 Renault Clio 39:44.154 ... 8pts

Del wants his 2 points pls MR race director :)

@C-H-A-R-G-E-R: As a fellow Courage C60 driver in PRO, would you mind please sharing with me your pit strategy and the tires used?

I used RS/RS the whole race thinking more grip was better for this type of course - had to pit end of every 6th lap. I wanted to experiment with different tire compounds, but ended up not having enough time to do so.

Thanks 👍

That was right 👍
I used 6|6|6|6 segments and tyres were softs/medium
I used TCS, so rears were mediums. I think it is optimal to use harder tyretype on rear wheels on such city tracks. The car was great in slow corners.
As for others: it was 6|6|6|6 on medium/medium in GT1 and great 5|5|5|5|4 in GT2. It was about 12-15 secs faster the race on mediums overal.

Happy with the results and congratulations to everyone! 👍
Still wondering what had happened to RACECAR in the race. He was pretty fast in qualifying, better than me...

Thanks for that affirmation C-H-A-R-G-E-R! Makes me feel better about my tire and pit strategy. It must be my racing lines that need to be worked on and possibly corrected.

In PRO, did your RS/RM with TCS set up make it easier to take the hairpins a bit faster because you could then slide the tail-end out and around a bit without losing too much speed? Or did you opt for RM rears to simply prevent early tire wear?

Thanks again,
ERacer

In Pro, I opted for RM/RH for 2 stints of 9 each then 6 laps on RS/RM's.
Which upon reflection wasn't a good strategy, but the GT-One is a B;tch for rear tyre wear, and soft rears lasted 4 1/2 laps only, so really I had no other recourse.
If I had been given the option (like in the Historic), to switch cars part way through the season, I most certainly would have.

In GT1, I think I did a similar strategy, but with RS/RM's for the first two stints and then RS/RS for the last. (I think?) It was nearly a week ago that I ran the Viper. And I deleted the replay earlier on tonight without thinking, whilst doing a bit of spring cleaning of the mem card. Sorry!!

Anyway, I've done some running already round 246. and am fairly happy with the GT-One times, but the Viper is giving me a headache with all the understeer. Strange how different tracks of the same type are poles apart in grip characteristics, init?

Going OT: I know what I'm about to say should be in a GT5 thread, but what happend to me and ERacer this round had me thinking of something. I was thinking for GT5 they should have 'track marshalls(corner workers, if you will)' stationed at the turns and wave a yellow flag warning racers of trouble ahead on the track. Sort of like what they do at the races in real-life. Any of you think this would be a good idea?

Both of them. Rear tyrewear was strong enough and at the same time this is my racing style on racetracks like this.

Also it's off topic, but I was thinking a bit about CAMikaze's post. He is right, yellow flags should be in GT5 like it is in F1 for example...

And maybe someone will share with me what will we do in GT5... I mean that online racing will be great and we can run all the races of championships like this online. But there is a huge problem. We know that all the best racers (maybe except japanese) are here on GTP, and we have them from USA and Canada, Europe, Australia, so the problem is how this sistem will exist when we live within 15 hours beetween us? I'd like to be a part of this and will be very glad to race face to face with everyone here online, but what will we do when it is 6pm in Canada or USA and it is 3am in Moscow and 2am in GB?

This is a great idea!! You should definitely post this in the GT5 forum 👍
