I've been considering it for awhile now, so I'd like a chance at it.

Details:
Real Name: Brian
Location: Texas
Age: 17
Interests:
Anything with wheels or wings. I like cars, video games (mostly racing), drawing, and building models. I'm also an avid dirt biker, though I prefer trail riding to motocross racing.

Oh, I'm also half British (father's side), and lived in England fo 1.5 years.

~3WD

Ask away your questions, and please refrain from the "this or that".

Hey 3-Wheel, how's it goin'?

Do you like energy drinks? Why or why not?

How the heck do you shift a dirt bike? Is the tranny sequential (besides the clutch)--as in up for a downshift, down for an upshift (the way it should be)--or is it really super complicated?

Good, could be better, though.

Do you like energy drinks? Why or why not?

All right, I'll bite.
I don't like energy drinks. They taste like wet ass.

How the heck do you shift a dirt bike? Is the tranny sequential (besides the clutch)--as in up for a downshift, down for an upshift (the way it should be)--or is it really super complicated?

It's sequential. From neutral, you go down for 1st, and then back up for all other upshifts, and down for all down shifts. Here's a diagram:
(1 N 2 3 4 5)
<-down up->

So it isn't complicated. However, this setup can lead to missing 2nd gear and going into neutral when attempting to upshift to 2nd, which is not a problem, unless you've been riding several hours and are getting fatigued. This leads to sloppiness, which makes missing a gear a good indicator that you need to take a break and rest.

Do you think that this whole "SHOOP DA WHOOP" thing will get out of hand?

Hard to say. It's become a meme elsewhere, so it may very well become another "Watch out for Famine".

Are you chargin your lazers?

Oh, you better believe it.

Did ya beat meh?

Yes.
"YOU LOSE! Good day to you, SIR!"

That's a wack setup. It may be sequential, but it isn't my idea of sequential.

Anyway, how do you go about downshifting smoothly on a motorcycle, especially sport bikes? I can rev-match great in my car but I still mess it quite badly every now and then. It seems to me that if you don't rev it enough on a bike you could lock the back tire for a sec since there isn't much weight on it. My Sol just gives you whiplash.

Your greatest goal (and raising a healthy family doesn't count)?

Your dream occupation?

Your favorite food?

What OS do you use?

keef, I just sent you a PM on your latest questions.

Your greatest goal (and raising a healthy family doesn't count)?
My greatest goal is to get a good job that can pay enough for a nice truck to drive aorund, and good dirt bike or two to go with it. :sly:

Your dream occupation?
Dream? Race car driver or pro bike racer.
But I'll be perfectly fine with a good mechanical engineering job. I've always liked designing stuff, and figuring out how things work. Pays good, too.

Your favorite food?
Tough one. I just love most food so much. But good barbeque is pretty damn hard too beat.

What OS do you use?
Windows XP (sorry, I'm just not a Mac guy)

Can we start numbering the questions?
I believe we'll be on #11 next.

13. What are your favorite kinds of engine sounds? I'm partial to the racy, crackly sound of a Ferrari V8, the high-pitched wail of a Lambo V12, and the rumbly grumbly of VTEC at 9K.

15) Why does everyone go into mechanical engineering? Have you ever thought of doing aerospace engineering and becoming an aerodynamics's?

Do you like chicken wings?
Who doesn't like chicken wings?

What's your favorite steering wheel? (manufacturer)
I don't race with a wheel. I use my DS2.

Oh good, they're numbered now:

13. I've always loved the growl of a beefy American V8. But the greatest engine sound IMHO, does not come from any car, truck, or bike. Nothing beats the purr of 4 radial engines, like those of the B-17. Music to my ears.

14. Classic rock and Alternative/current rock

15. I don't know. Maybe it's the fact that areospace is very specific. Mechanical can apply to just about anything that needs parts to be designed, whether petrochemical, automotive, etc. Thus it appeals to a broader range of people. I've considered aerospace before, but there's plenty of other cool stuff to be able to work on.

16. Only if I ever go to Japan.

From a mechanical engineering student who's not too far from getting his degree...

17. Apart from a desire to figure out how things work, what character/personality traits of yours do you feel are essential -or will serve you well- in the engineering profession?

18. Are you comfortable working in a group dynamic helping to develop ideas that are not your own?

19. Would you rather spend your money on an Xbox 360 and a Wii or a PS3?

1000. I killed question #20 while getting question #1000. Am I a genius?

21. Your favorite video game of all time?

22. Got an MP3 player?

23. If so, how often do you use it?

24. Your most embarrassing moment?

25. How do you like Firefox 2? What features do you like the most on it?

26. Your screen size?

27. Do you think YouTube is overrated?

28. Do you want to go premium?

29. Are you a PC gamer or a console gamer?

30. Your guiltiest indulgence?

31. Why did you choose "3-Wheel Drive" as your username?

17. I think like an engineer. I don't tend to do things unless neccessary, I try to do them in the most efficient way possible, and I'm very good with spacial perception. Give me a picture of something, and I have no trouble turning it over and seeing it in 3D in my mind. I also hate beating around the bush, it wastes time better spent getting to the point.

18. Of course. I have no trouble working with groups, even with those I don't like. And I'm always willing to go with others' ideas, unless they are blatently flawed.

19. PS3, but only when the price drops $100 or more (and I'm in no rush to get one)

1000. No, just a murderer. What did question #20 ever do to you? :(

21. Total Annhilation

22. Yes, an Olympus M:Robe. 20GB, nice big LCD touch screen. Takes pictures, too.

23. Not often, mainly for trips and such.

24. If it's embarrassing, why would I let more people know about it? :sly:

25. Actually haven't installed it yet, I'm still running 1.5.I really should upgrade, though.

26. 1280 x 720 - widescreen kicks ass!

27. A little.

28. I'd love to go Premium. I just don't have the means...

29. counsole

30. None, really. Sure, I have my vices, but I'm not ashamed of them.

31. It just sort of popped into my head. Upon deciding to join I began the process, and needed a name. I wanted to avoid the Smith4548's and figured I'd go with something different, maybe a little off-beat. 10 minutes later, "3-Wheel Drive" popped into my head. So I went with it. That's pretty much it.

32. Well, he isn't a politician. Politicians are mostly fat heads who wish little other than furthering their own damned agendas and carers. He's an independent, which is nice seeing as I currently unhappy with both the Republican and the Democratic parties. He also gets points for simply not being Rick Perry.

33. Tralse.

34. What, besides the fact that he was guaranteed to win from the start beacuse everyone voting against him was spit between 3 candidates? And how he further had the upperhand because it was not a run-off election? Or how apparently EIGHT YEARS in office isn't enough for him?

Nah, I'm not bitter.

Okay, maybe a little.

Okay, maybe I'm just pissed. It doesn't help that I was a year off from having any say in the matter (voting).
:grumpy: :grumpy:

yeh, pretty crazy cause when you think about it, 60% of Texans voted against him. Man democracy is complicated..

35) Whats the best type of mexican food?

35. Enchiladas are always good.
36. Many, and on both ends. No good ones that I can think of offhand, though.
37. No. Luckily Firefox zaps 'em.
