is anyone playing the PC GTR demo with the driving force pro? if you are, and have gt4 how does the handling and force feedback compare? i have the feedback on full and i had to swich the shifter to the paddles cause one hand off the wheel means your gonna loose control. the feed back is really strong. instead of turning the wheel into the turn its more like i'm pushing against it to counter the feedback

I do not have GT4 -yet-, but played the GTR demo (v2.0). The way you describe the force feedback I assume you have the setting as I had it before I reversed the setting.

Please note that you have to reverse the force feedback in Controller > Force > 'reverse settings'

(note that if you choose the wingman this is done atomatically)

Without reverse 'ticked to green' it seems the car is steering into the corner itself and you have to steer against it as you mention

Thanks to s14aracer for sharing this info with me first!

I played the 2.0 demo of GTR with my DFP and had to put it back in lock-mode... in 900° the driving sucks and is unrealistic

hmm ok i'll try it reversed. its kinda like the wheel (car wheel) alignment is off, like you take your hand off the wheel on a straight and it pulls to one side or the other

and yes its an absolute quality game.. GTR feels so "right" i can happily drive around an empty track for hours. just feeling the road bumps and learning breaking/acceleration points. it really puts the GT series in the shade... the only thing its missing is that i ENJOY taking a stock integra type-r for a spin, and tuning stock cars up to racing spec. something GTR will never do for me. so at the min im stuck between ultra realism with GTR and ultra diversity with GT4. oh well maybe someday someone will manage to combine the two

first off, race cars do not have 900° they have far less than that, so yeah, it should be pretty damn irrealistic, in GT4 this is handled in a different way, regular cars have 900° while race cars have far less (there are no physical locks on the wheel when using a race car, but the wheel does in fact, have in realitly about 300° or so, depending on which car you choose.

i love the cockpit view, it adds so much to the sense of speed and also your sense of car position. gt really needs a view like this. yeah 700 cars is a lot of cockpits, but pgr2 has a lot of cars in it and they all have faithful dashboards even though theres no dashboard view.

but anyway, can anyone with both compare the feel of the cars?

I know a guy who plays GTR with a full range of 900*, he says it's the matter of proper controller setting and a car setup. However, I guess the majority of DFP owners sets the turnig ratio from 270*to 400* via Dxtweak2 software.

lucky bastards with your DFP's... I have the imported Gold version but only have an analogue "ps2" pad. But even still, this game is unbelieveably fun for anyone interested in upper class racing. The final build has 3 difficulties and so far I'm havin' my hands full with the 2nd one; I don't have enough precise control with the pad to even play the 3rd option. 👎

how do you get force feedback to work with the DFP with this demo?? i have it set to on and reverse to green, but i still do not feel any feedback

did you install wingman profiler, turn centering spring all the way down, and set force feedback to 80%?

Also, this doesnt really belong in here. though i understand you are trying to spread knowledge of a game that a few people here havent heard of :)

i'm actually trying to get some comparisons with gt4, so i think it fits. but i thouht i'd mentoin the strange force feedback result i was getting

oo. i c. Hopefully i will have gt4 tuesday and then i will throw my 2 cents in. uhhhh I just too an ambien so i'll make this brief.. uh

did you put a check by where it says reverse force feedback? I have other questions but... i dont want to pass out on my keyboard and wheel here before me.

GTR ===> 900° mode is JUST perfect but you need the right settings for the DFP. I always use GTR (full German version) with 900° mode and i never use more than
when I used my MOMO racing (which is perfect for this sim). The MOMO racing is the best wheel for GTR and DFP is almost as good.

Get the DXtweak software!!!

I just hope we're going to be able to get this one in the US. It's the first racing game since Grand Prix Legends I've been excited about!

I have this exact same setup, and I have the German version in America. This game for realism smokes the GT series so far, but I haven't played GT4 yet, so we'll see. $10 bucks says that this thread gets moved to the cpu area, as I have already posted this exact same topic about 4 months ago!

Yep, wrong forum

I just want to say this
