It seems GTR is on its way for 360. Haven't seen or played it for pc yet but the general opinion is that its an unrivaled sim, the real deal. For those who have the pc version what can I expect from this game and could it rival forza and or gran turismo?

To answer your question, from what I heard, GTR is a hardcore racecar sim, and supposedly, the cars handle exactly in the game like in real life. I wouldn't say it's a competitor for Forza or Gran Turismo, though.

But since most everyone will be using a controller, and the few X360 wheels on the market have 200º rotation (as opposed to the 900º rotation of the DFP), GTR will probably feel too hardcore and hard to handle for people. :indiff:

Hopefully it will be difficult to master but will reward skilled sim fans. I'm sure there are many out there that are praying for something like this. wonder if the upcoming 360 wheel will support this game properly

Could be good, but I dunno. Only 200 degrees, only paddle shifters. I think I'm going to be hard to please with wheels since I'm buying the G25.

Most exotic cars and race cars don't even have 900 degrees of rotation. They have between 180-240.

Live For Speed has better phyiscs than GTR. GT Legends might too, though not by much. All three have better phyics than Forza or GT4.

I just realized, this is GTR1 isn't it. Not the second one that is in development?

This game is guaranteed good sim physics.

However I'm not too sure about it's selling potential. Most gamers would want a pick up and play game. Most people will be turned off by the difficulty.

By ''most people'' I hope you mean arcade racers.

;)

I hope that gtr doesn't come with dumbed down physics just to please the masses. We need atleast one hardcore, no frills sim for a console. I've seen pretty visuals and more are sure to come but I really want to delve into a comprehensive, and rather serious sim personally.

It's not going to be dumbed down.. There going to do it like the PC version.. Which is very fun.. Just not my type, I like GT's kind of mode.

Well I hope your right:tup: Physics set aside then how do the cars and tracks actually look. Hopefully the trackside detail won't be the dead environs of toca.
