GTR or Rfactor = Need Your Help!

I'm a Hardcore racing game fan, but I consider myself a semi-casual gamer. I'm thinking about getting a PC racing game and I can only get one. I already have a PC Gaming Controller (a Logitech one that's shaped like a Playstation Controller but doesn't have rumble), and I have history with playing PC Games, so it's not like I'm a NOOB at this. Anyway, I have a choice between GTR and Rfactor. I can only get one and I'm wondering if you PC freaks can help me. Now, I brought GTR 2 Game of the Year edition at Best Buy With My Birthday money last year, but it wouldn't work on my computer because of DivX problems (I Think That's how you spell it); apparently it didn't have it. So, I have three simple questions about these two games, because I want to know which one is right for me. So, here they are;

1. Which one has the best specs? (I have a Crappy Computer; I don't know about my video or sound card, but I know i have 2 GBs of RAM and Memory.)

2. Will either one of these games work on my PC Gaming Controller? (I downloaded Live For Speed, but It didn't work with my controller?)

3. Where do you get Rfactor from? because I didn't see it at my Best Buy.

If any of you guys can help me out, I will greatly appreciate it.

I know how to get Rfactor for free by swapping EXE's but im not sure if that right to post on the forum. I have bought Rfactor and found out how a couple of months after :ouch:

Im a GTR2 man myself. Love the game find the right community for race with and your set.

you didnt just download divx from www.divx.com and see if that fixes the problem? If you have a very old pc, you might not be able to play any games released inthe last few years. Rfactor has more downloadable content than GTR. Live For Speed might run better on your pc though, and LFS has the best public multiplayer.

If you illegally get rfactor I don't think you can you play online. It's super cheap nowadays, no reason to steal it :P. Also, you can install mods onto the 60 minute demo.
I think its forbidden to discuss cracking software here... Anways, unless you are running at super ridiculous resolutions on tripple monitor displays, rFactor, and every other sim doesn't require too much power to run maxed out. iRacing may be the most demanding at max settings w/ all the candy on.

You can build a nice sim racing system for less than $550 (pc and steering wheel).

I does work online btw. I bought the game when it first came out and lost it. Downloaded teh VHR mod and need the EXE to activate it. Found it now.

.

rFactor seems to absolutely rape my PC with all cars visible and almost top settings. GTR on the other hand, can easily get 100FPS, max settings, with 60 or more cars on track.

RFactor works fine on my PC and it's far from top spec. If I'm running a night race I have to turn down the number other cars headlights visible but other than that it works brilliant.

I like GT-R a lot too though. It really depends what you want, both are very good. I think RFactor has a notably bigger mod backing.
