GTR3 - What Happened?

So... what happened to GTR3? Simbin released a teaser over a year ago and there hasn't been a whisper about it since then, and they still have the same news article on their official site.

Did it get scrapped? Is it still in development? Will it drop out of nowhere?

I am a huge GTR2 fan and have actually created mods for it so I need some info if anybody has some. A quick google search has turned up nothing.
 
Hard to say, but it looks like they have been increasing their activity lately with the release of the Formula RaceRoom, STCC2, GT Power and Retro packs for Race 07.

Key work is "Large Scale" which of course could mean anything, but could very likely be a new GTR. Hopefully this and Rfactor 2 come sooner than later.
 
There is a forum post by a high ranking reliable member of the raceroom staff. On raceroom.net. (Awesome website in the making).

That clearly states.... The photo of the Lizard engine (the old news photo your referring to) is very old and it has come a LONG way since then, much has changed.

They are keeping their cards VERY close to their chest with this one.


But they do seem to be on the attack, racing simulators watch out, Simbin is gearing up for a full-on assault.
 
Sure hope they bring a tire model otherwise they will be after before they even started.

(i´m a Simbin fan to the bones btw)

It has been stated that this "Lizard Engine" can be used to make any game, such as a FPS. ;)
 
They may wait til' the game is really close to release to start revealing anything. They've done stuff like that before.
 
OMG! STCC2! How did I miss this!? I must have been deaf dumb blind. WOOOOW I will get the cruze and volkswagen! :drool:

Now I havn't even heard what others say about this and I assume it is type "bla bla trying to milk the existing game with two more models and skins bla bla no not worth it e t c"
