Do you hate racing against dirty drivers?Do you hate when impatient drivers push you off track while racing on a tight technical track?Do you enjoy racing with clean well behaved drivers who share the same love for racing as you do?Well I have something just for you.

GTRating!!!!,taken from the same concept as irating from iRacing a system that deductions points for crashing, going off track, dirty driving etc,and rewarding points for clean driving.Basically when you go online you will be given lobby choices depending on your GTRating. The rating will only record you in a actual race and not free run.

Of course this may propose a slight problem, what if your friend doesn't have a good enough rating but wants to join your lobby?Well that's where friends list mode comes into play allowing you to join any room your friend is in no matter the rating.

This I believe is the best way to separate the good drivers from the bad/troll drivers, this will also come in handy for things like GTAcademy because there will be a record of your rating in graph form to show your progress and consistency in online races.

I think it should go like this,Race for fun,Race for real(GTrating),and then a server just for separating the ratings where the host can turn the rating on or off for races.

So Server1 is for people who don't care, have fun whatever and Server2 is for people who want to improve their rating, and Server3 is for people who want to open a rating room but have the option to turn off the rating for races so they can just have fun with there friends and people of the same rating and not be penalized for it.

Sounds like a good idea. Would you propose that the rating be based on driving behavior in online only, or would you include career driving? Arcade?

Personally, I'd welcome a system that provides a quantitative measure of the overall cleanness of my on track behavior in all driving modes, and publishes that number. Even if I never intended joining some random group of online players, and having it channel me into the appropriate group, I like the idea of being measured. I need to improve!

This would encourage me to strive for a more excellent rating.

As I think this through, given the tendency of the AI drivers to do silly things, maybe there needs to be multiple measures of cleanness to make it representative of actual driver behavior.

Enough random thoughts for now....

I think it should only be used for online racing, but I don't know maybe based on your rating in the career mode before you've raced online you will be put in a higher or lower online rating off the bat.Yes I think there may need to be multiple measures of clean driving.

I agree that it'll make people strive to be a better driver and will also help with people recruiting others for teams and leagues, maybe GTPlanet could setup profiles so that it displays your rating,I think this would solve a lot of problems.
