This could be regarded as a completely stupid question.

There were rear-wheel drive versions of the R32-34 cars that were either NA or Turbocharged.

If the past R3X models had these, then why didn't the R35?

Do you think this would be a good idea for Nissan? I have mixed thoughts about this

What RocZX said. The R35 is the Nissan GT-R. This is a Skyline:

The R35, while technically not a skyline, is decended from the skylines because it looks a lot like the R34, has a flat-6, and has 4WD, unlike the G37. So yes, a GT-R GTS should happen.

The R34 had RWD standard. Only the GT-Four and the GT-R had AWD.

In truth however, the Q50 is actually being sold along side the G37. In Japan they will be discontinuing the Skyline 370GT (G37 to us) and replacing it with the (new to Japan) Infiniti's, like the Q50. The Skyline name will soon be gone for good once Infiniti arrives in Japan. Sorry, just had to make the correction. :scared:

The Q50 is still called a Skyline though.

I guess one benefit of having an R35 GTS or GTS-T is that you can have an R35 for way less of the GT-R cost.

And all the technological stuff would probably be absent in those models as well. And AWD.

It would be I interesting to see how balanced an NA R35 GTS would be. Would it get 18/19" wheels as standard? Would it have a basic navi screen? How much more would the price be over a 370Z or would it undercut the 370Z? Cloth seats?

How about the GTS-T? Could it get even more carbon parts, thinner glass and a boost controller to be a track weapon like an R35 GT3? Is it possible to make the RWD R35 GTS-T, the top model as a reinvisioned Hakosuka(even if the original was NA)? Would a 1450kg (approx.) 400-450hp R35, be enough for Corvette and Porsche to take notice?

I like the OP. Nissan can do RWD real good. It would be awesome to see this before the iDX comes out. Good dream.

IT'S TERRIBLE.

This is my photoshop attempt at what I would see if Nissan made a GTS R35.

Id only have to look at your avatar to see what the two-toned GTS would look like ( yes, I know I it's a rotary).
