So we are a week into GTS, so I took a look at how the trophy stats are working out to get a picture of early activity and playing habits.

The always on-line and on-line only saves do give one advantage, and that we know these numbers are robust, as you can't do anything without being on-line.

One interesting thing I did notice is that for an on-line focused title GTS has almost no on-line dedicated trophies, which I must confess I did find a little strange.

Key ones I have focused on are as follows:

Experienced Driver (drive for a total of 62.5 miles / 100 km: 73.2%

Now I'm sure most on here would have managed this on the first day (I know I did), but a quarter of owners are still to break 60-ish miles driven.

My First Car (Bought your First Car): 44.7%
Less than half have bought a car, however given the rate at which GTS gives them to you this is not a massive surprise, I didn't buy my first one until a day after I started playing.

Collection 10 (Acquired a total of ten cars): 44%

A similar story to above, I actually got this one before I bought my first car or had got the Experienced Driver trophy.

Recognising Your Talent (Earned bronze in all the Driving School Challenges): 19.3%

The vast majority (80%+) of owners have not finished the driving school to even the lowest level, is this a sign that the new direction of career mode doesn't hit the spot, or that people don't want a career at all?

Globetrotter (Earned bronze in all circuit experiences): 0.6%
Well this one surprised me, well kind of, I suspect that the rally stages may be a big barrier here.

Master of Manners (Sport Mode Opened after completing all racing etiquette lessons): 54.2%

This is arguably the big one for the title, while it does show who has actually gone on-line in Sport mode or an open Lobby, it does show what percentage have watched the videos needed to do so. Given the focus of the title this is a mixed massage for me. while it is higher than the average on-line try out for most titles, they do also have a significantly larger single player element. As such I am a little surprised that almost half of owners have not yet even watched the videos needed to get on-line.

Newbie Driver (Reached Level 15): 17.3%
Veteran Driver (Reached Level 25): 1.8%
Legendary Driver (Reached Level 40): 0.1%
Ultimate Driver (Reached Level 50): 0.0%

I've grouped these together as they paint an early picture of overall progress ratios. Ideally I would have liked one for Level 20, as that would have let us know who had unlocked all of the tracks for arcade. This one will be interesting to see how it progresses over time.

So those are the key ones at the moment, let me know where you sit among these, or any that you feel are of interest.

Level18. Finished driving school, need to go back and gold a few of those silvers though. I bought enough cars for the level one reward. I've got at least level one on everything except the sporty ones. I haven't online raced yet. Dabbled in track experience and missions.

It is interesting to see and I think this forum is an exception to those general results. I have really zero interest in Sport Mode because I don't want to fork out an additional €60 per year for a function I will rarely use. I prefer the content that is there for me to enjoy so I focus solely on the Arcade, Custom, Missions, Drivingschool and Photomode features.

Experienced Driver (drive for a total of 62.5 miles / 100 km: 73.2%
This I achieved the very first day.

My First Car (Bought your First Car): 44.7%
The game is so generous with giving cars that it isn't even necessary to buy something. I think I bought my first car on the second day.

Collection 10 (Acquired a total of ten cars): 44%

Already obtained 8 cars from the beta and with one new car given when I started the official game, I only needed to win one car. Done on day 1.

Recognising Your Talent (Earned bronze in all the Driving School Challenges): 19.3%

This one simply needed to be golded all the way. Gold is achievable for every average player!

Globetrotter (Earned bronze in all circuit experiences): 0.6%
This one needed to be golded as well. Only the full Nordschleife lap remains for me to be done. Currently silver.

Master of Manners (Sport Mode Opened after completing all racing etiquette lessons): 54.2%

Watched the etiquette video, signed my contract with a manufacturer and did a qualify session. For the rest I won't be bothered.

Newbie Driver (Reached Level 15): 17.3%
Veteran Driver (Reached Level 25): 1.8%
Legendary Driver (Reached Level 40): 0.1%
Ultimate Driver (Reached Level 50): 0.0%

At level 23 atm

I wonder how hard the drop off will be over the coming weeks or if it will gain interest?

@Scaff there are no stats of the Missions?

I've been away on a weekend break so I haven't done much with it at all.

I have "watched" the etiquette videos (well, I started them and then went and made a coffee. Sorry @Tom ) and done 2 online races, and didn't make myself look bad. I haven't done any of the driving school, and only some of the circuit experiences.

That'll change though.

About earning all bronze in the career stuff. I did not unlock those yet for the simple reason that I refuse to continue to the next one before I golded the current one. And I am mixing all the content, every evening I do a bit of single arcade races, a few track experiences, visit the brands central, so some driver school, some challenge missions etc. I’m taking my time and I’m not really in a hurry to complete campaign entirely.

I bet there a lot more people who don’t settle for bronze and keep trying until they get gold for each event they start.

On my GTP PSN account, both of these are pretty much done by all the GTP folks that actually played the game. On my main PSN account, only 2 have made it past the 5th driving school test. Around the 4-6 test is when the names start dwindling down. 4 of these guys used to play GT5/6 more than I did and did mostly campaign stuff.

I usually log on to the game and then watch my activity feed. Then I do some driving school and challenge activities. After that I take it to the track and do some AI or online races. I focus on one or two tracks a day, and when I've driven on them for a couple of laps I immediately go to the circuit experience right after. In between these activities I also do some liveries for new cars that I earn, and I try to look for good photo opportunities while I drive and gather new interesting material.

Similar to others I guess I do a bit of Driving School, a bit of arcade and maybe some circuit experiences. I've not even tried all of the circuits yet or all of the driving school and am only at level 13.

I've done a couple of Sport races to see what it's like, but I haven't bought a car yet (will do this today as I have plenty money).

Without the "traditional" career mode I feel a bit lost sometime as to what to do first. I know circuit experience is recommended, but sometimes I can't face the bronze disappointment!

Not yet touched any multiplayer races. Been going through the driving school (all 100% gold), now 25% through the next campaign section. I basically don't progress to the next round until I get gold. So could be an arduous process, but on the whole I'm finding them pretty enjoyable.

Other than that, took a few photo's, had a dabble with the livery editor and searched the "discover" tab admiring all the fantastic liveries.

I'm doing different things. Yesterday i was tired after work so i didn't do any racing. In fact i spend 1.5 hours in Scapes and Brand Central. And you know what? It was great! I'm planing to do some more Campaign mode later today, maybe a circuit experience at Suzuka or Mt. Panorama, three or four missions, then 2 or 3 races in Sport mode, which is always an interesting and challenging experience IMO.

I have only tried the offline events and have yet to venture online. I am stubborn so I stay on an event until I get Gold and then I move on to the next one.
I actually purchased my first car just for the achievement and not because it was a car that I really wanted. My garage is filling out at a steady pace on it's own due to gift cars so I am holding on to my 3.6 million.

Tom
I'm utterly heartbroken.
Its not you, it's me.

To be fair, because of my connection and because they're on YouTube, it was playing for 2 seconds and then pausing for 10, so it was unwatchable. I tried to play them again in the hope they'd buffered somehow but it wasn't to be.

I have level 23, and I have been in first place two times in sports mode from 8 attempts.
In campaigne mode I have done 100%, only in silver and gold, in near future I'll try with all gold (Im playing with my controller in expert level of course)

Well, I'm at Level 18 right now, bought the 458 GT3, and I've been fooling around in the livery editor most of time for now. Did one sport mode race so far and came 5th.

I don't have enough time each day to grind credits, so doing the daily workout will keep me busy for a while trying to get all the cars.

Also the mileage credits are scarce for me, so I need to save up to get some of those cool paints.

When I started GTS, the first thing I tackled was the Driving School, did 100%, then off to the Circuit Experience where I stuck with it till 100% completion, and then off to the Mission Challenges... I still only have 96% done. The last 3 I've yet to complete.

It says I have 43% of the trophies now in GT Sport. My list includes...

Tactical King: Ultra Rare 0.4%
No Longer a Novice: Very Rare 5.3%
Real Sector King: Ultra Rare 0.8%
Pylon King: Rare 34.1%
Super Rallier: Ultra Rare 1.4%
Relentless Chaser: Very Rare 5.1%
Speed Demon: Ultra Rare 3.3%
Right on Time: Ultra Rare 0.6%
One Lap Wonder: Very Rare 7.2%
Experienced Driver: Common 73.3% (Now I'm sure I did this one in the first hour, if not first couple of hours for sure.)
Speed King: Rare 35.4%
My First Car: Rare 44.9% (Like a number of us, I didn't BUY my first car until day 2 or 3.)
First Victory: Common 66.4%
Route 66 Racer: Ultra Rare 0.4%
Collection 10: rare 44.2% (I had 8 or 9 from the open beta, and I had pre-ordered the digital Deluxe version. I currently have 78 cars now.)
Endurance Racer: Ultra Rare 1.1%
Talent Discovered: Rare 19.4%
Globetrotter: Ultra Rare 0.6%
Newbie Driver: Rare 17.6%
Veteran Driver: Ultra Rare 1.9%
The Charm of Customisation: Ultra Rare 4.1%
Master of Manners: 54.3% (Finally did this on Day 2 or 3 of the game... concentrating on the Campaign may have slowed my online experience for GTS, but doing the challenges and the circuits really opened my eyes of how THIS game felt to drive. Invaluable experience in of itself in my mind.)
Run, Run, Run!: Common 82.2%
Tuning Addict: Rare 15.4%
Souvenir from LeMans: Ultra Rare 1.2%
Souvenir from Nurburgring: Ultra Rare 1.3%

Cheers

Don't be bad!

Hey Tom loved your instructional videos of the campaign stuff. But I wonder how they came to reality, did PD make the videos and you narrate them or is it you playing through campaign as well?

Really great stuff, before I start a new mission I always watch the video. And the singleplayer campaign stuff already made me take 3 of my trouble corners (2 at brands hatch, 1 at willow springs) already a bit better. ;)

I'm lvl 29 atm. I've completed the campaign with 100% gold (this was what I did during the first week because the sport mode combos were boring).

Now I've been mainly doing Gr.3 sport mode races to get to DR A. I'm almost there.

Other than that, the occasional lobby race with some mates, photomode sessions and just browse around to see other people stuff.

I'm waiting for the import decal feature to make the liveries I want.

I've driven +4000km. :D

Trophies I got:
Finale. Ultra Rare.
Tactical King. Ultra rare.
No longer a Novice. Very rare.
The real sector king. Ultra rare.
Rival crusher. Ultra rare.
Cone king. Rare.
Super Rallier. Rare.
Relentless chaser. Very rare.
Speed demon. Ultra rare.
Right on time. Ultra rare.
One lap wonder. Very rare.
Experienced driver. Common.
Speed king. Rare.
My first car. Rare. What? :D
First victory. Common.
Route 66 racer. Ultra rare.
Collection 10. Rare.
Endurance racer. Ultra rare.
Recognizing you talent. Rare.
Welcome to green hell. Very rare.
Globetrotter. Ultra rare.
Newbie driver. Rare.
Veteran driver. Ultra rare.
Master of manners. Common.
A promise of greatness. Ultra rare.
Run run run. Common.
Running addict. Rare.

I don't care about trophies BTW.

Don't forget the occasional cop lobby at Tokyo Expressway, because even in Esports the rice never dies.

3/3 Change car plz.

When looking at these rarity stats for my games I'm always surprised by how low the participation rates can be sometimes (and I highly doubt that much of it is down to people not having their trophies synced). I guess when you play games a lot it's easy to forget that not everyone has the same amount of time and/or motivation.

It's kind of funny as well how these stats are sometimes at odds with how these games are made and marketed. Makes you wonder why devs bother putting all that hard work into stuff that half the players don't use.........although of course the 'attractiveness' of a game is often greater than the sum of its parts, so it's probably not a waste of effort.

I play it with my PS4.

Pfft, hipster. :p

I hit level 20 last night, and haven't run a single Sport Mode race. I have been in friend lobbies, though. Definitely have spent most of my time doing the Campaign, and the Livery editor. Only bought one car, needed it for one of the campaign races.

I have to manually sinc trophies to make them appear in the timeline. I've had to do that with each game AND the Trophy menu a few times. I wonder how reliable it can really be.

Thank you, @breyzipp! It's not me playing the game. Essentially I was sent a number of different scripts and then voiced them at my home studio - I should probably state that I had no input in the content of the video or the script!

Hope it's helping you amongst others out!

Haha great job on the syncing between the video and the audio then, it really feels as if it is you driving, pausing the video to explain a corner and move on. Great timing on all that! 👍

So just found this thread, just locked to 20 this am. I've done a little of all. A lil sport mode, done some scapes photos, some campaign think I'm 50 done with campaign. A couple open lobby races. Really enjoying this more than I anticipated

I just reached level 20 yesterday. I have done a little bit of everything so far but my main focus is getting gold throughout the campaign. Right now I have 100 percent gold on driving school, on the missions I have gold up to stage 4. For the circuit experience I am only 5 percent complete but have gold on the ones I completed. I believe I have 35 cars now and I only bought 2. You can acquire cars pretty quickly in campaign. I did some sport mode races which turned out to be alot of fun. I have not came in first yet but have finished 2nd and 3rd a few times.
