GTS VS FI-2018

This goes out to those who are familiar with F1-18'

I'm looking for a new online racing game, can't deal with the GTS penalty system anymore, too frustrating.

Assuming F1 offers online racing.
What are some pros and cons?

I'm not expecting perfection, but do they have a penalty system that works?

I haven't played it, but I've heard there's a pretty similar ranking system to the one in GTS.

I thought about trying that but wasn't sure how familiar they would be with the GTS penalty system. Since it's a comparison I wasn't sure which way to go, but I'll try that. Thanks

What's FI 2018?

The online racing system is a little different in F1 2018. It's not as granular as GT Sport IMO, and there aren't as many details for you to figure out where you're heading online. There also just aren't as many players. On the plus side, qualifying happens on a per-race basis, and you can actually change the car's setup.

From my experience, the flag rules on-track are usually pretty good, but there's some inconsistencies in terms of what constitutes contact and what doesn't.

Don't pay any attention to the video a few posts up: anybody can cherry-pick bad instances of online issues in any modern racing game, be it F1, GT, PCARS2, Forza, etc etc.
