GTWC - Can't play the last race in Professional Events

Hi all,

I've seen some posts about this problem but couldn't really find a solution, so i thought i'd give it another shot.

The last race of Pro. Events are not unlocked. I got all golds in beginner and pro. races including championships and got all golds. I've checked over and over...

I got all licenses (passed them most with bronze tho...)

What's wrong?

I sold some of the cars i've previously won from the beginner and pro events, so could this be the problem? It seems remote for me though...

Any ideas?

You are not alone mkoprulu, I had the same exact problem. People suggested that maybe I didnt have all golds and whatever, I checked and rechecked and I indeed had all golds but it STILL denied me entry to the GTWC....saying I must win all events in the beginner and professional, very frustrating.

My only solution was to rerun the entire beginner and professional series of races. This worked and I got to enjoy the GTWC and on to the extreme hall. I know this seems like a lots of bother to go through, but thought I'd pass it on anyway. Good luck and hope you find a simpler solution.
 
Maybe you just did the championship races as single races.
 
Thanx bindidot, i'll probably do the races again in this case. I'll use my b-spec driver this time though. Can't bother to do them again.


Radicool02, Integrafan: I'm sure i've done all championships, because there were more rewards for them anyway :) I double checked anyway, and it's all golds... I guess it must be a glitch. No probs, worst case is i'll let my b-spec improve it's points by playing them all again.

Bang on... this has come up several times already and this was the reason those times too... the game contains two types of event, those consisting of Single races and those which are a series, in which you accumulate points... you can do the races in a Series individually as well, and this seems to be confusing people... even with all golds in every race, you must win the Series in order to complete the necessary objectives in the game that will allow you to progress... In a series, the first selectable icon is a 'GT' symbol that starts of the Series... hope this helps... if you are sure you've won the Series, then maybe it's a glitch, but I seriously doubt it...

Ironically, to win a Series (and hence progress), you don't need to win every race... but if you want 100% completion, at some point you must go back and win every race as a single race...
 
Whats your percentage and did you get ALL beginer and pro halls unlocked, you should get EVERYTHING gold, only halls
licence doesnt matter as i unlocked extreme with IA not S lic.
AND on top as you finish the last race, you should get a video and a message... if you didnt get it.. check your races
and make sure you did the cups, not just single races....
 
im having the same problem and i have got gold in beginner hall , professional hall and yes as well i have got gold in everything including all single races and all championship races and as well i have done a majority of the japanese , european hall and the yank hall (american hall) , and if i have to redo all professional and beginner hall races then that is just stupid and it is some kind if glitch or bug that PD should have fixed before the game was released :grumpy: :grumpy: 🤬

That was also suggested to me earlier, however I entered all the championships as a whole and not through the individual races. It just doesnt make sense.

I dont blame you for using b-spec this time round mkoprulu, I just wish I had a better solution though.
 
Well I went and did all those races (including the championships) and it let me in...
 
Touring Mars, I've completed all series with golds. Where there were series in the events i always went in and did the series (GT icon). Thanks for the tip for 100% completion though, as i didn't do many as singles, just did them as series...

I also have a suspicion (out of topic) that when you enter series instead of single races, the cars seem to be pushing harder, is that true?
 
ali900, i have unlocked all beginner and pro events except the gtwc one. I didn't get a video + message on the supercar festival if that's what you're talking about... I wonder why? There's definitely something wrong.

Would the other way around be possible in series, such as having to do all single races as well as series? Because if that's the case, i didn't do most single races where there was a series, i just did the series instead.

My completion percentage is 21.5%, i've got all licenses with 0 gold, 6 silver and 74 bronzes... I'm also on day 508, if that makes a difference.

I don't think i'm doing anything wrong. It must be a game issue.

I think I might know what the problem is, when you enter a series event of say 5, 7, or 10 races sometimes it can be won with a race to go or even a few races to go. If you abandon the series to get the money/prize car quicker, then complete the races you left out as a single race. If this is done it won't let you into the extreme hall or the Gran Turismo World Championship. Most people actually don't fully complete the GT World Championship, can this stop you getting into the Extreme all.
 
HHHMMMM, I just noticed something. I haven't even got all gold in the professional hall. The third race is actually silver but it let me through to the extreme hall. Oh well, off the make that silver gold!!

I just did all the races as a series, it all worked out just fine for me.

This is what is confusing me as I read this. I didn't think you had to get all gold in the series races... just in the individual races. I think you have to win the series but I'm not sure you need ALL gold. I also think you have to have raced all of the races.

Maybe someone ought to read that really good manual they sent with the game to get the answer. ;)

Whatever the case, I don't think it is a "bug" in the programming or I would have expected everyone to be experiencing it and that is not the case. I would rather think that if you completed the races the reason it won't let some proceed would be more related to something like shutting off the PS while it was in the middle of autosaving or maybe quitting out of a race to quickly at one point or something along those lines.

No, not true. I did all races in Cup format, never done a single race, and it let me in the GT World. Dunno though if I had all golds, or that I raced the races which I didn't won again to get gold. But doing the single races as well as the Cups won't be necessary I think. Weird prob this is.

Think Eastley has a good point. That could be the case. I always race all races in a cup if I'm doing it for the first time.:)

The vid they're talking about comes after the GT World Championship. So, that you haven't seen a video is correct.;)
 
That's a shame, it sounds like a bug...

I can definitely confirm 100% that you do NOT need to complete every race (in any particular series) to unlock Extreme hall... you need only win the championship.

I won GTWC with a race to spare, and so didn't bother with it... Extreme hall was still unlocked, since the 'objective' (winning the Championship) has been achieved...

But, I can't understand why if the series has been won, the game doesn't progress, unless it's a bug... :sick:
 
well i have redone all beginner hall and professional hall races again and it still is not leting me in to the GTWC and i have gold every race in both hall's again and i did all the race's in order again and all the championship cup's again and here it is then , because of this so called "bug"i can not get much further in the game the only other things i can do is finish off the Japanese hall , european hall and the american hall and probably i will never get into the extreme hall and the only way i would probably be able to get into the extreme hall is to use action replay or something and before anyone says start the game again the f:censored:k am i doin that cos i ain't starting the game from scratch it's taken me to bloody long to get this far and now i find out that there is a "bug" of some sort in the game so now i can not get any further in the game so here's my message to PD:

One last thing you can try.... check out the Prize Car list (I'm assuming you play the PAL version like me, being in Europe...) and check the list against your Garage... if you are missing any of those cars, then you can identify which Series you may need to do again.... if you have all those Prize Cars, then unfortunately it seems your game may be bugged...

The hodge man, I hope you've not damaged your ps2 after that experience... I would have poured some strong acid on it if i had the same result! And considering it's brand new cause i bought it just because of gt4, it would have been a terrible experience for me.

As for the suggestion of Touring Mars, i think what i will do is just go through the price car list and only play the races of which i've sold the price cars for, just to make sure i got all of them "in my garage" because i have a suspicion that selling one/some price cars might have caused this...

There's no other possible explanation i can think of. Next step would be e-mailing the software company i guess...

Oh and another thought, have any of you sold a price car which didn't worth anything? Like the nike car for example? Because i sold some cars which i thought was taking unnecessary space in my garage and they were scrapped because they weren't worth anything... If any of you has done that and still unlocked the gtwc, this theory will go to the bin too...

As for selling the prize cars, it could well do something, although I don't see why it would.... I resolved never to sell anything in GT4, just because some cars are unique and can only ever be won once.... would be interesting to find out if other people who are having the same problems opening Extreme Hall have done anything like sell Prize Cars, or try some sort of Memory Card trickery (which has been known to cause bugs).... maybe the software uses the presence of certain Prize Cars in your garage as the key to unlocking the next stages? That would be really silly, but it's a possibility...
