I recently upgraded from the 680 to the 980 and decided to do another video going through the different sim racing titles, mainly focusing on frame rates. It's a little long and the video gets a little blurry at times (cheap camera), but thought it might be informative to some.

I did find out why my fps was capped at 60 in rF2. It was set in the player.json file by default. I changed that value to zero and that uncapped it.

I got my GTX 980 some weeks ago and the only sim I have trouble maxing out with 100 % smooth graphics is Assetto Corsa. But I made life easy on myself with a 1080p single screen :D

I switched to triples when Forza 3 came out and have never been able to go back to single screen. Much to my pocket books demise! :)

Hi Seahawks1Fan. Could you list your video setup? Maybe: CPU, Motherboard chipset (e.g., x99?), number of 980 cards, connection type (DisplayPort, DVI, HDMI?), monitors' brand and model... Would *really* appreciate it. Thanks!

AC is a bugger. I just built a system with a GTX970 and can definitely say I highly recommend it to anyone. Can't get a better bang for the buck IMO. The GTX970/980 is simply in a league of it's own in terms of price/performance.

No problem. When I did this video, I was running an I5 2500k cpu, Asus Maximus IV genez/gen3 mitherboard. Stock settings with latest bios. Connections to monitors are 1 dvi, 1 hdmi and 1 display port adapter to dvi (my monitors don't have display ports).

Monitors are Acer h233h, which are about 4 years old.

I just upgraded to an i7 4790k and may make another video as I'm seeing major frame rate gains in rF2.

Very cool, thanks! I'm really interested because I switched to Macs and OSX about ten years ago. And now, I'm out of touch with what's hot, and what's not in PCs. Building a gaming/racing PC is something I need to do, and can use all the help I can get. So, again, thanks!

There's so much opinion out there. I have to wade through all the hot air, and determine what's the best configuration.

From what I've heard, the motherboard should have a x99 chipset, because the GTX 980 interfaces with it more efficiently, improving graphic performance. But again, true, false...don't know.
