Windows 2000 absolutely does not equal Windows Me Dodge. Win Me is Windows 98 repackaged to look like Windows 2000, but the core operating system is still 98.

2000 rocks.

Sup guys.

I dont know what is going on inside it. My mother wants me to ask anybody what happened to it. I am pretty sure;I f I want to fix the problem, or at least know what happened, I am gonna have to open the pc that means, voiding the guarantee seal. Anyways, the guarantee is over. The computer is old, an amd-k6 with 3d now, 400 mhz. I am going to need a faster computer for college, so I dont know whats the deal with this one, but my mother says, leave it to your sister to do her homework. The other problem is she said if there is something that have to be replaced, we will buy it, but how much is a hardrive? I dont think hardrives are cheap, maybe the one it carried, 5.99 gb's.

Before the computer broke down, it used to restart by itself. Like I was surfing the internet, and all of a sudden it restarted without me touching the reset button. Motherboard problems I guess. If not what else could it be. Everytime I try to insert the recover disk the monitor displays a message that says "not enough memory). I dont want to trash it after all because the monitor is still working, same as the sound. In fact the sound was pretty good for an old computer. It is just that it was a Compaq computer, what can you expect from Compaq these days.

Interesting...I had at one time a six gig Western Digital drive. Nothing but trouble. Not that that necessarily means anything. :)

Do you have another HDD you could swap in to your PC? That would narrow the possibilities a bit.
