Nice feature :). But I cant post anywhere, not on any continent. All other menus besides "post" work.
  • When I click "post", nothing happens.
  • When I click "post" and then click on map, nothing happens.
  • When I click on map, then "post", then map, nothing happens

Any suggestions?
 
I have tried to submit my post on the guest map and it isn't there. I can't see it.
PS. I could see it once when I posted it but I got the wrong icon (a woman icon) so I delete it. So you can post only once on the guest map (europe)?
 
I want on the guestmap too !!! I can zoom and then move it around with the "asw" keys but I cant post either. The small box highlights up in light blue when you hover over it, as it does with the other boxes, but theres "nip" "nada" "zero" "zilch" when you click on it ???
 
I didn't have any problem posting a personage on the map. Click the button and then click on the map to put a pin. You can then choose the microavatar you want and the note.

No dialogue box comes up. This applies to any continental map, on any zoom level. :(
 
I have noticed a few discrepancies in the flags one everyones posts. There is someone in Germany that has a Netherlands flag and vice verca, and there is someone in italy with a flag that I have never seen before. And there is a bit of confusion with the English Brittish flag. Someone in Scotland has the St Andrews flag but everyone in England has the Union Jack. It would be better if everyone in GB had the Union Jack, or if English people had the flag of St George, Scottish had St Andrew, etc. etc.

You are free to choose whatever flag you wish, regardless of where you put your pin. So someone English living in Scotland may choose to put the Union Jack or the St. Andrews as they see fit. Or the Russian flag if the urge strikes them.
 
Oh, I didn't notice that. I guess it gave me a Union Jack by default.

Right thats it - Cosmic what "exactly" did you do to get your icon on the map - Step by step, as Ive tried and tried but its not happening
 
I had no problems doing this...

Goto the map zoom in a couple of times...

Find where you want to be...

CLick Post you then get a pin mouse...

Click your place...

You'll then get a dialogue asking for name, email, website, GTP nick, message, Icon and Flag...

Click OK to place it.

I want to change the icon to a male one but I'll just leave well alone for now !

Seeing as Scotland, and indeed England, aren't actually independant countries - they share currency, a great deal of laws, our car registration formats are identical (in fact, they just get a regional one... :D), the government is the same (devolution my ass!), we compete at the Olympics as Great Britain and so on and so forth - I demand a White Rose flag for Yorkshire. After all, we're a region of Great Britain too...


In all seriousness, I would like to be able to have a White Rose, rather than a St. George's Cross, St. Andrew's Saltire, the Cross of St. Patrick (and the NI equivalent) or the Red Dragon. Wales isn't even a country - it's a Principality - and they're all just regions of the UK, in the same way as the states of the USA are just regions of the USA (Edit: I have now checked - and you don't have state-specific flags - so why do we?). Got to have all regional flags or one national flag.

Although I appreciate that this is right on the ass-end of Jordan's (edit: Bravenet's... bog all to do with Jordan, I assume) problems... :D
 
I'm glad you guys are enjoying the Guestmap. Since it's a service of Bravenet, there's really no way for me to provide support for it. But it seems most of you have got your problems sorted out. And yes, the pop-up is normal. It's a free service of Bravenet, so they display that ad.

I thought the same thing for a while, but then I realised there are different pages. Flip through the "Go Back", and "Go Ahead" arrows at the top-left of the Guestmap window.

EDIT: Wait, apparently the North American map is full, it will only hold 100 entries, mine is now gone completely...hmmm. :grumpy:

Try contacting Bravenet about that. The flags are completely out of my control.
