Ok, maybe abit weird, but I picked this game up today in the GOTY pack for 6$ at a local store, Does anyone play? I need something to get me going, and I enjoyed Oblivion, but I really never played a GOOD MMORPG, so im hoping this is it! Any advice for starters if you do play?

++Did a look at the last 4 pages of threads in the Pc gaming forum, Nothing came up, so if there was a prev. topic on this, its REALLY old.

You'd be correct in saying it's very old, but I found it :p https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=87791

I've still got it installed, but not had any urge to play in a fair few months now, it kind of died for me when all the expansions came out as the population spread out too much and left my favourite area (Prophecies) quite barren, so you'd do well to find a Guild to help you out on your quests and missions seeing as finding a party is nigh impossible later on.
Apart from this personal annoyance, it's a great game and I've thoroughly enjoyed the 1000+ hours I've put into playing it over the past 3 years.

As for advice, try out several of the professions before you delve too deep into the story line with one so you find one you're comfortable with. Also consider their place in a team, Warriors up front dealing the damage and taking most damage, Elementalists, Necromancers and Mesmers in the back casting but weak to oncoming attacks, Rangers with long range attacks and ability to have a pet to attack too but again quite weak against for example, a Warrior, or you could be a Monk which leaves you with the difficult task of keeping your team alive!

Yeah I don't know how they've nerfed things and balanced the game since I last played. Definitely one of the most fun games I've ever played though, back in its heyday.

Look up guild wiki and pvx wiki for good builds.

Thanks guys! I still have yet to install it as my disc drive decided to cop out and eather not open, or when it does open, it doesnt read anything! A new one is in order! Upgrade!

All you have to do is download the client from guildwars.com. The only thing you need the disc for is the access code. You have to download each world as you play them for the first time anyway.

really? Well thats awesome news! Thanks! Yay I can play on my computer in my room rather then hogging the Rent's

Yeap! Already got it, took a few minutes of digging on that site though! quite confusing.. Wasnt sure if i was downloading the demo of the game I already had, or of a different versian, i was quite scared haha. And I think picking this game up for 6$ was well worth it and I have yet to play!
