If could make a custom song I'd do Unas slayer of the gods by Nile :D 11:43 long with a nasty long solo.

Or Patera's Revolution is my name

I burned a custom disc a couple of days ago. It worked just fine, but you better check a video of the custom song before downloading, some have parts out of sync, or the tab doesn't really flow with the song.

Unfortunatelly, the two songs I was waiting to play the most are too damn hard for me - Inferno by Symphony X and Glasgow Kiss by John Petrucci. They're really well done, but almost impossible to play.

We played this for the first time at a birthday part this weekend. The first song I played I got a 80 something the the 2nd song I got a 90%. Very addictive and enjoyable game. A little rough on the fingers but I guess I just press too hard on the buttons. We will probably buy this for the xbox360 when it comes out. Hopefully the 360 version has more songs because we got kinda bored of the song selection after several hours of playing. I am sure the 360 version will have DL content.

The X360 version will have 64 songs like the PS2 version, I believe. And it will be mostly the same songs, with some extra songs for download. I've read the Halo theme will be available. 👍

This game freaking kicks ass! Bought it today, oh my god I have never had so much fun..

and why didnt anyone say that the top gear theme was in it?! Dam thats cool!:D

The more and more I play it, the more I notice the distubring lack of Jimi in this one. Yeah, I still hate the song list compared to the first one, though the rest of the game is better overall, I'd say.

But there are some songs out there that you can still melt your fingers at.

Oh and Ash has just seen "The Light That Blinds". Priceless.

I completed easy level, but when trying medium on practice I totally suck! my little finger just won't work on the blue :(

There's some songs that just stand out to me and I always end up playing them when son leaves it on...

Beast and the Harlot
Less talk more rock
YYZ
Monkey wrench

I can complete them on medium but I'm total crap

I'm stuck at Psychobilly Freakout on Expert, don't know when I'll get back to it.

In other news, I got my GH copy back last week, it was with a friend of mine since january I think. Although the gameplay mechanics are worse, the game is so much easier than GH2!

I had my game save with two songs left on hard mode, so I finished them and started on expert level. I've passed 90% of the songs in my first attempt at it, and with four and five stars all the time! Only in the two last tiers I got three stars in four or five songs I think.

But I can't pass Cemetery Gates, tried over 20 times already... If it had the same mechanic as GH2's HO/PO I think I would have finished it by now. Maybe I'll try some more today.

What are the differences in game mechanics etc between the 2? I got GH1 today and they feel pretty simalair.

GH2 is a bit more forgiving about precision, but the biggest difference is in the HO/PO (hammer ons and pull offs). These are sequence of notes where you just need to strum the first note, the others just require you to press the buttons at the right time (notes without the black circle around the white dot).

In the original GH, on these sequences you have to hold all the notes togheter and release them as you play a pull off, or in the case of a hammer on you play the first note then all the others without releasing the notes already played. I can't describe it better than that, sorry.

Anyway, on GH2, in a hammer on or pull off you don't need to do that, you can play the first note, release the button, play the second note, release the button, etc. Much easier.
