Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks The '80s | Release Date: July 24th

So I'm down to tier 5 already. The first three tiers were pretty easy (GH1 easy), nowhere near the difficulty of GH2. I'm 2/3 through the game and I only got one 3 stars' rating so far, all the rest were 4 or 5 stars. Most of them in the first try. I'm playing on Expert by the way.

The song list is reasonable, not many songs I know but some are pretty fun to play.

I got to say though, my major disappointment in the game so far was "Twisted Sister's I Wanna Rock" cover. This has got to be the worst cover the GH crew has ever done. The song is in the wrong tone, the wrong tempo, the singer sucks and the ending is lame. 👎

I'm pretty sure I'll finish the game until the end of the week, which is a shame because I was hoping this would keep me busy until GH3's release. But since there are only 30 songs in it and they're pretty easy to master, it won't hold me up for long. After I'm done with it I'll probably go back to making custom versions of GH2.
 
This game has been a pure an utter dissapointment to me. I have both GHI and GHII. Love them both. The 80's simply fell short with their supportive content, not to mention thir song list. I LOVE the 80's. They left so much out. They could have done MUCH better.
 
So, I got this from Gamefly a few days ago. Already beat it on hard once and now I just have to beat Play with Me on Expert. Very happy that I didn't buy this one. It was fun, but too few songs and very few that were difficult. The ones that were difficult usually had a really odd note pattern that was just hard to do, not necessarily hard solos or whatever. Some patterns cause my hand to start cramping and three note chords are just awkward at times.

Don't buy it, but make sure you play it for the good bits. 6/10

May keep it a few more days, but I'll see if anybody I know would want to buy it. Only $38 for a game a couple weeks old. ;)
 
Yeah, I'm stuck at Play With Me on Expert too, I'll probably finish this weekend if I have the time to play. The game is fun but not worth the 50 bucks. GHIII on the other hand is looking awesome, specially the song list. 👍

By the way, I Wanna Rock is not a cover song as I stated before. It's a re-recorded version of the song, played by Twisted Sister themselves but it's a new formation, with a different singer. That's why it sounds so lame.

As of right now, I can't get past 90% on Play With Me. I'm not sure if it is possible to whammy enough to get a starpower at that point, because it brings it right next to the middle mark.:doh:

I played GHII for 360 last night, and I think I like the strum bar and placement of the frets better (closer together), but the shape isn't as nice to play with as the SG and both the whammy bar and tilt function sucked badly.
