I played this game at EBgames Saturday. I played for about 20min and loved it. I was going to buy it when i git there but they dont accept checks and i didnt want to wait until tuesday to use my CC. So the guy told me they had it demoed(demo) so i went at it and after doing thunderkiss65 (love the song) on easy, i felt it was too easy. So moved to medium and it was more challening but hard is where the fun was. Now I dont know much about guitars so i cant really say how it compares to a real guitar.

So after forky over $84(bestbuy walmart sell it for $70 but its not available anywhere other than game stop and ebgames here. Its fun but it hurts your and hands trying to press 5 different buttons with just 4 fingers.

I have not gotten too deep into it but its incredibly fun and its a must buy for that rock fan. Think DDR with a plastic guitar. The music choices are good aswell and of course there are those tracks you wish were in the game.

Only downside is the guitar is standard ps1/2 port. being USB could have been better.

Check your local ebgames to see if they have a demo set up and give it a try. Prices are $59.99-79.99.
 
On medium you don't use the fifth "chord". This game is one of the best PS2 games of 2005, and by far the best game in its genre.
 
I had more fun with this at ebgames then Perfect Dark Zero. "Hard" is rewarding to get to the end and it requires great dexterity.

This game is great. Right up there with We love Katamary as games most people wont ever play.
 
Bark At The Moon is my favorite music to play on the game, and the hardest is Cowboys From Hell. I'm having a hard time to get five stars with this song in the medium difficulty, that riff is too fast.
 
Whats so great about this game? Wouldn't it be more awarding to pick up a real guitar and taking lessons?

Iron Man would be so easy on there. I can play that on the real thing ( my solos suck but I got the main part ). Nothin can replace the real thing just like GT will never replace real racing but it still sounds fun.

EDIT: NO Metallica, that sucks.
 
"Artillery - "The Breaking Wheel"" = impossible on hard :) i get to 7% with mostly luck.

Some songs seem more triky on medium than others, otherwise medium is not as fun with missing notes.
 
I bought this game when it first came out. I only have Bark at the Moon and Cowboys From Hell on expert left.

My favorite song to play is probably "Ziggy Stardust" on expect. you use all the buttons and I can get 5 stars on it. 👍
 
you make me sick...... I just can't get every button even on medium but some some songs harder than others even on medium. I'm really diggein "Unsung" on expert. "Thunderkiss 65" is the easiest one fro me on expert. But hats of to your mad skillz.

Heh, good song, but they should have included Don't Fear The Reaper. Be more of a challenge.

It's hard at first getting used to the 5 buttons and only having 4 fingers, but you just have to get used to the "fret board" and then it's not so bad.

I'd kinda like to play this game to see what's it's like, but I'm sure it wouldn't be as fun as carressing my Ibanez and learning those songs for real.
 
But learning the songs in a real guitar takes a lot of time, while in the game is almost instantly. And as strange as it sounds, this game is so good it actually makes you feel like you're playing the song for real.

Anyone who doubts about the quality of this game should at least rent it.

Well, shucks, I've been going about it all wrong then! Why did I waste all that time learning an instrument, when I could have just learned how to push buttons instead?
 
Having fun with the game has no relation to actually playing a guitar. playing a guitar is playing a guitar. Playing Guitar Hero make you feel lie you are playing in a band and not just playing a guitar. Thats what makes it so fun. It like saying why play GT4 with DFP if I own a car......

I finally beat this game on expert. I got to 98% finished on "Bark at the Moon" like 10 times before I beat it, but I did it and I am totally awesome.
