On January 24th coming home with 2 passengers in my e90, I got cut off and hit to pop my car up on the curb. After jumping the curb i proceeded to hit a bus bench which spun my car around and threw me into two poles, one being a street lamp pole and the other being a telephone pole. The emt's had to use the jaws of life to get me out of the car. I had 2 collapsed lungs, punctured spleen and my diaframe was all out of wack. I spend a week in Intensive care but have been home now for a while. The doctor said i am healing faster then many people he has had to do surgery on. Maybe it's because I am 21. But, whatever it is, someone wanted me here so I am very thankful.

Both passengers walked away without a scratch. I was lucky to be in my BMW. It saved my life and my passengers life's, no question.

I will be parting out what I can of my car. It will be posted up soon.

I am in the process of ordering an 2009 135i. I think that will be a great little car. I am pretty excited about that.

Any questions are welcome.

Pictures are in the link. Should make all you 3 Series owners feel a little safer on the inside.

Unfortunatley it says page not found. Can you repair the link?

Wow, that's one mangled heap. He says he crashed right in front of an EMT training facility. If there's one place to have a bad accident, it's there. Poor guy, though.

This reminds me to be even more careful when changing lanes.

crikey musta been doing a fair bit
so, what is the better decision to do? swerve off road and get wrapped around the scenery or bump into the back of the other? :scared:

He means the link in the quote. It doesn't work because it's been shortened.

Correct link: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4424594#post4424594

Going into the off-topic zone and seeing the thread title "What's your favorite porn site?" already explains a lot of the quality of that board... Also, is it my computer or does this link not direct to the images of the crashed BMW? Here's the link that directs to the thread showing the crashed car: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=228677

E90 post is full of 17 y.o.'s whom are spoiled rich brats that are immature and have no mentality what so ever. Now bimmer forums are 30 y.o.'s that are working for their cars and are immature and have no mentality what so ever.

The guy had indeed a very nice BMW. Personally, I'm not a very big fan of BMW's as the kids at school who drive them are a pain in the ass. But that black one really was looking sweet. Too bad it was crashed though :indiff:

Hmmm... typical crash thread:

1. Hey guys, I just crashed my car. I'm A-OK.

2. OMG, are you all right, man? That sucks!

3. Pics or shens!

4. I'm surprised you're alive.

5. Why didn't those airbags go off?

6. You should stop street-racing, man!

7. You should sue, man!

8. Blah blah blah...

Why is there always one yokel who asks why the airbags didn't go off? Especially in this case, where the airbags that needed to go off, the side curtain airbags, went off, since it was a swerve into the curb?

Wow, I was certainly not expecting the guy to survive, especially considering the fact...that he was in an E90.

What does it being an E90 in particular have to do with his survival?

Are BMW's safer than other cars, I don't think so. These guy's have a guardian angel watching over them.
He said it himself in his post; someone wanted me here so I am very thankful, it wasn't his time to go... .

Meh! Thats just a small bump - I've survived worse.

Nissan Micra, head on collision with a Ford Escort estate, combined speed ~120mph.
They had to remove the 1 litre 16 valve engine from my lap, and the remains of the car were so badly mangled you'd have a hard time identifying what it was before the accident.

Sure I spent 12 days in a coma, but I survived a worse crash in a lesser car. This guy is just looking for attention.

damn Car-less sounds nasty! where was your thread of battle scars and heroism? :dopey:

yes that must be it..

Yeah right... His car may not have been safer than "other" cars, but I'm also sure some supernatural creatures didn't have anything to do him surviving the crash. And ofcourse someone wanted him here - his friends and family - but that either doesn't have anything to do with him surviving the crash. I'd thank my luck, the car's quality & safety equipment and medical personnel - not God, angels or other BS.

They "will return in less then five minutes."

Okay. I'll wait until than to check out the pictures.

Not sure if you're joking about the last statement or if you're being callous.

I think the Nissan MA-series of engines have 8-valves. :)

Well, aren't you just a big bag of joy.

You sir, are an arrogant ass. Comparing your accident to his and then acting like you're some big man. I guess everyone & anyone who says they got into an accident under 60Mph are just an attention whore next to you.

Any accident is serious. This guy had a punctured spleen, a near-fatal injury. My accident could have been serious. I got t-boned on my side in a Prelude and was lucky I did not endure whiplash or a broken neck. It doesn't take 60 or even 20 mph for an accident to be serious. Hit someone at 10Mph and even they can experience a near-fatal injury.

So get off your high horse. I can't believe you even think it was worth comparing accidents and then think your's is worth telling over his.

The thread title makes it seem like BMWs are not safe. ;)

Depends how you read it. The comment I replied to seemed to be implying that he was lucky to survive, given that he was driving an E90. This in turn implies that the E90 is not very safe, which is why the guy was lucky to survive.

Either way, the E90 is a safe car, and so are lots of other modern cars. The fact he crashed in a BMW doesn't make it safer or less safe than had he crashed in another similar sized sedan.

Maybe I'm reading into this too much ;)

That's a pretty rough accident though I'd be willing to say that many modern cars would do rather well in such a collision, it's just how things are made these days.

Sure I spent 12 days in a coma, but I survived a worse crash in a lesser car. This guy is just looking for attention.
And compared to Richard Hammond so are you.

But in seriousness, by bringing the whole "Meh! Thats just a small bump - I've survived worse" into it and linking to it, you too are looking for attention, thus you sir are a hypocrite.
