Miami-based Gullwing America (GWA) has sent us details and images concerning their most recent project, a tribute to the Studebaker.

The 1954 Studebaker managed to grab 20 wins at the Carrera Panamericana race and 9 of them were consecutive (1993 to 2001). To celebrate this achievement, GWA has decided to pay tribute to the vehicle by developing the Studebaker Veinte Victorias (meaning "20 wins") which will be limited to only 20 cars. 19 of them will wear a yellow livery while the remaining unit is going to have a black hue to serve as a pace car.

The classic body has a modern touch while underneath the skin resides a V8 6.2-liter LS9 supercharged engine developing 620 bhp (462 kW) sent to the wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The Studebaker Veinte Victorias benefits from a reinforced tubular chassis and has received Brembo HPK brakes stopping the GWA-developed 19-inch wheels shod in Bridgestone tires. Gullwing America says the vehicle will feature a special suspension and will come an exhaust system manufactured by Fabspeed.

Details about pricing are not available at this point, but will be released in the future.

....The last Gullwing America car I saw here in the suggestions made me shiver with pain.

This one isn't as bad, but it's only marginally less horrid. That front....gawd nooooo....

When I become rich someday, remind me NEVER to order a car from these guys....

Even with some modern tweaks the cars still are beautiful in their lines and styling. What car do you drive Scorched? A cookie cutter, hard to find in the parking lot, millions of people can't be wrong right, kind of car?

I predict you know almost zero about Studebaker's cars, go take a look at the Silver Hawk then come back.

Anyways, I like how the car of this thread looks a lot like the older models of Studebaker. I only disagree about that yellow, it just doesn't seem like it's the right colour for it, the black one looks very nice.

Looks are subjective, each to their own. I may have the opinion that Studebaker's are ugly as sin but that doesn't mean I don't respect Studebaker's history and legacy.

....I don't mean to take the thread slightly off topic, but I just took a gander at these GWA fellas' website, and I gotta say.....

Out of all the cars on display there, only one car looks actually decent - a mock Lambo Miura.

I have had plenty of Studebakers and I personally don't care too much for the Silver or Golden Hawks. I also don't like many other Studebakers. The origins of those cars is the 53, which is a fine car to look at. That doesn't mean that all or any other is ugly. Some are great and if you owned one and spent any time with one you would understand the beauty. That said you might not ever want to do that. You own your Maverick and I wouldn't. I would not go as far to say it was ugly even though by your standards it is. Most cars after the late sixties got ugly. But I might say that about most Ford or GM cars for most years. Some are outstanding but they are few and far between, just like Studebaker, and the majority of years were just ad ons and bad designs.
