F1Racing.netFormer Formula One World Champion Mika Hakkinen has stepped into the frame to become Jenson Button's replacement at BAR Honda should the inevitable happen and the Briton actually join Williams next season.
Finland's national broadcaster YLE has quoted Hakkinen as saying, "There's no smoke without fire," concerning rumours about his possible return. "At this moment I don't want to make any more comment on those issues especially since discussions around BAR are so intense."
Hakkinen is now 35 and retired from F1 in 2001. He was linked with Williams before news of Button's move broke.
Maybe we haven't heard the last of Mika yet.
