no need to lock the thread, I don't think it was announced anywhere on GTP for those that aren't "in the know." It's been running loose for a couple of days now, and Valve has even requested help on the matter.
Basically it means it will be released slightly later (it was already delayed anyway) and that HL2 will have rampant cheating from the very beginning.

Nah, after seeing how far along they were I now realize that it wouldn't have made it out by the holidays thanks to the leak (for exposing their progress).
I think that's just how Valve is laying the blame for being a little behind.
The leaked code definitely set them back some, but not as much as they are claiming.
