Half life 2 supported video card

I am looking for the best video card for half life 2 thats under 200 dollars

Suggestions? Reccomendations? Anything?

Do you want a AGP or PCI Express Card.

I know you can these cards under $200:

NVidia

Either a 128MB or 256MB 6800 non GT, depends on what place you buy it from.
6600 GT

ATi

X800
X800XT, seen this on some sites for $200. But your have to do a bit of searching around mate.

how do i know if i have PCI or PCI express slots for my computer

what mobo have you got?

if its an older board with an older graphics card, then its most probably AGP.

but you should be able to find out what bus you have by doing a right-click on the desktop and look under the advanced display setting for the info about your graphics card.

For half life 2, dont even look at nvidia cards, defenitely the X800XL for the 200 dollar price bracket, great card that performs as good as the 6800ultra in some other games.

I've noticed ATi's cards run faster[in HL2], I think valve and ATi had something going on.
