Just wondering if anyone else is going to get this or if you already have it. I cant wait to play Portal and to check out Team Fortress 2. I am also excited to play back through the HL2 campaign along with Episode 1 and Episode 2. Might pick up the Orange Box this saturday.

I'm planning on picking this up this afternoon, however, I'm getting it for the PC (since I've got a gaming rig) instead of the X360...

I also have a gaming rig I just prefer console gaming. The last game I played on my PC was Age of Empires 3 The Warchiefs or Black and White 2. I will knock the dust off my PC when Crisis comes out. Just wont be able to play in the highest settings.

I'm gonna get this when I feel like I can afford it. Which I'll probably convince myself is soon.

I've got it (on PC), but thus far I've only played Portal... Which is awesome! Anyway, considering that I got $60 worth of games for just over $20, I can't complain...

Finished Portal last night (main game, anyway, haven't done the extra stuff yet). Awesome game, but definitely too short. Even taking your time, you can probably finish it in 3-4 hours. Hopefully there will be some expansions, etc.

I've only played a little of HL2 so far. The people who said the graphics suck are insane. If HL2 looks this good, I can't wait to see what Ep1 and Ep2 look like.

Team Fortress.. meh, take it or leave it. I don't do much online gaming, and putting together a team would probably be a pain in the ass. I was talking to a friend of mine last night, and he was trying TF2 and said it sucked because everyone just ran around and did their own thing.. just a free-for-all, zero teamwork of any kind. So I'll probably hold off until we can put together a real team, probably comprised of a bunch of guys at work. People that I actually know. Makes all the difference.

Definitely a hell of a bargain. Since I have every intention of playing through four of the five games on the disc, the $60 price tag was, in this case, very much worth it.

I also bought The Orange Box on saturday (360 version). Portal is freeking awesome but yes very short. I am on the 19th of 19 levels and it has only taken me just a little over 2 hours with no walkthrough or hints or anything. I havent finished the last level yet but so far its extremely fun. I heard once you beat it the game unlocks a all the advanced puzzles. So that means the game really isnt that short then.
Team Fortress 2 is also an extremely fun, funny, and addictive multiplayer game. Played that for at least 2-3 hours on saturday and loved it.
Now to Half Life 2 on the 360. It looks almost exactly the same as it did on the PC on the highest settings which is a good thing. I was very happy with the graphics. I know Episode 1 and Episode 2 will look even better but they really did a great job with HL2 on the 360.
Conclusion. The Orange Box is a steal at only $59.99 for 5 games. 👍👍

I'll be picking up the PC version. Episode One was a bit disappointing, but the trailers I've seen for Episode Two make it look far better in terms of gameplay.

And Portal looks pretty cool.

I just bought it in a games buying frenzy along with PGR4. I've never played HL before so needless to say, I'm enjoying it very much. TF2 is fun too!

HL2 is about as awesome as first person shooters get. I've probably played through the main game about 5 times now, and I'm really looking forward to Episode Two.

My only issue was that Half Life 2 was very easy, and there was no option to crank up the difficulty. I'm not one for playing games on ultra-mega difficult, because I'm not that good, but HL2 was definitely a lot easier than most FPS games and I'd like a better challenge.

But it's just so well done that I find that a minor complaint. FPS games to me aren't really made better simply by making them more difficulty and throwing hordes more of bad guys at you. I much prefer some novelty in gameplay and level design and a good variety of levels and environments within the game.

And nothing in any other game can beat the shear awesomeness of the gravity gun. A great challenge is to try to make it through the Ravenholm level without firing a single round, just using the gravity gun (I hear that's one of the Xbox 360 achievements).

You can turn up the difficulty in the options menu. BTW if you liked the gravity gun then you should play Bioshock. Its the only other single player campaign FPS that is as awesome as Half Life 2. You use telekinesis in Bioshock in place of the gravity gun from Half Life 2.

Is there a difficulty option in Half Life 2? Where is it?

Bought it, completed it twice and already traded it in... Yeah, it was pretty cool. Very atmospheric and a very well designed game world. But I never really used the telekinesis ability. I don't know why.

The last time I played through Half Life 2 I was bored so I found a website where you could tweak all the game parameters so I just cranked up the gravity gun to ridiculous levels so I could hurl cars across the landscape and fire everything else at ridiculous speeds and distances. Silly, but fun.

Wasn't HL2 already released on the original Xbox? Are they going to do much with the graphics over the original PC version (which is 3 years old now)?

Yes you can turn up the difficulty in HL2. Yes the graphics are very good on the 360 version. Just as good as the PC if not better. I talked about that a few posts back #7.

I'd be interested to hear how TF2 is working over XBL. I did a few rounds of TF2 last night on the PC and needless to say, it was "different." I need to spend more time with it, but interesting nevertheless...

I finished Portal last night. It took a total of 3 and a half hours. What a great game from beginning to end. Now the advanced levels are unlocked and I will definetly be going through them. I can see myself playing through Portal multiple times.
How quick did you get through Portal?

So I popped into my local game store after work, the nearest game shop to me, and only a slight detour from my route home from work, and didn't see this game on the shelves. I asked a member of staff if they had it in stock because I didn't see it on the racks, and I may as well have asked him the capital city of Mali. All I got was a blank stare.

"...HALF LIFE 2 EPISODE 2....is that an actual video game? Doesn't sound right to me, is it for Nintendo or Xbox or what? Are you sure it's a real game and it's been released, 'cos I've never heard of it?"

The game has only been released today in Ireland so they probably just haven't received it yet or put it on display. But Jeez, what is it with idiots who work in game shops who haven't the tiniest clue about what they're selling?

Did anyone get through all the advanced Portal levels? The first 4 or 5 arent too bad but wow the last few are brutal. You also have to finish all the advanced levels in one sitting or they wont save.
Did anyone else also try the mode where it counts how many portals you shoot to get through a level? I tried the first test and it took me 9 portals. They require 5 to pass.

How much different are the graphics between this version of hl2 and the version on the original xbox?

Haha. Just finished Portal. That was a really enjoyable few hours.

I cranked open HL2 just for the hell of it and I wish they'd extended the gamemmakers commentary to it. I've already paid for another copy of it, don't I at least get some extras?

Almost at the end of portal:p Good game, finished HL2 and have moved onto Episode 1, throughly enjoying orange box:)

And am I the only one who thinks Alyx Vance is the hottest female video game character?

I think I answered this a couple times already but oh well.
The graphics on the 360 are almost exactly the same as the PC version. Some things actually look a little better on the 360 some not quite as good but its VERY close to the PC version. Way better than the xbox version. 👍

The cake is a lie

:D

Wow, I just finished Portal and oh.my.god. One of the best video game experiences I've ever had. I've never actually enjoyed credits until now either
