Hey. I just want to complain about a Half-Life mod coming out soon called Half-Life Street Racing or HLSR. This mod aims to capture the essence (minus damage which is a MINOR problem) of street racing. They hope to have many cars (exact number unknown, probably about 20) and tracks and have just released the demo.
First things first I guess. The demo is horrible. You run around rather unimaginative tracks driving around in unrealistic cars with handling thats better suited to rally cars (I'll touch on this later). For example, you just have to look at their Toyota Supra, it is probably the most unpropitinate car I have ever seen. Very good for thin people. And the less about watching your car at the start spin around in 360 before crashing into another car the better.
Another thing is the attitude of the team. I'm not sure who did what or who was involved but quite frankly I don't care. The HLSR team (or individual) took some of the handling code from a more well-respected mod called Half-Life Rally. This in my mind is disgraceful and should be treated with the upmost of attitudes. The only thing that can console the Rally team is the fact that the handling on rally cars couldn't be more far removed from real cars. This subject makes up half of my bile.
So I ask you all now, friendly citizens of GTPlanet, lovers of cars (and Mazdas
) to go to the HLSR site: - http://www.hlsrmod.com/ - and complain. Complain like you've never complained before as these villains do not deserve the right to mod with a "mod now, stuff the rest" attitude. Yes, I may be speaking with a superhero accent, but these people should not be allowed to get away with this. Or if they do, at least make the mod a lot ****in better.
Counting the seconds. Counting on you.
