Halo 2 Online Games Pass Half-Billion Milestone


Bungie recently announced that more than a half-billion games of Halo® 2 have been played on Xbox Live® since the game debuted in November 2004. That's right, more than 500 million games of Halo 2 have been played online.

Even Master Chief is impressed.
How much is half a billion? Half a billion seconds is more than 15 years. If you were to stack half a billion pennies, it would reach almost 500 miles high. Half a billion dollar bills, laid end to end, would circle the Earth at the equator twice.
Keep in mind, that number refers to actual games, not player-sessions. That number also doesn't include games lost because the Bungie website was down, or through other technical issues.
Even almost two years after its release, Halo 2 continues to be among the top games on Xbox Live. Congratulations to everyone in the community that helped reach this impressive milestone!

I believe it. I looked at my stats on Bungie and it shows I played almost 1,400 games online in Halo 2. Heather played almost 1,200 games online.
This is one of the only FPS that we ever played for 2 years straight since the day it came out. I know there are people that hate Halo 2 but it truly is a very impressive game online if you take your headset off. The matchmaking is the best. You can pick from so many game types to play. It really seems like there is a match for every person. 1 on 1. 8 on 8. 4 teams of 3. 4 on 4 and much more.... The only bad thing about the game is the kids talking trash and occasional cheaters. I just remove the headset and its enjoyable again. Or you can completely customize your own room with only your friends and play whatever you want. Lately I have been playing "Multi Team" once in a while when I get the chance. Thats 4 teams of 3 all against each other.
Halo 3 is a must buy for me. And Forza 2.

I just love that game, the graphics, the gameplay, the Warthog , Everything is perfect except for the fact that you can't do high-speed racing along the coagulation map loop . Heheh

I have ranked up 2419 games of slayer. The game just eats time for fun. Im glad to have contributed to the grand total of half a billion - it really is amazing. You do need to consider though that the most popular game-type by far is slayer, where there are 2 teams of 4, so you could times half a billion by 8 to get the headcount ?? 8 billion individual games? Its got to be in the record books.

Thats nothing, you get 4 warthogs on Headlong, and make up a course, there are lots of different routes you can choose from. But make sure there not gauss warthogs, cause some people get mad if they crash and shoot you.
