Halo 2 scratch or X-Box. Soon I will know.

For some reason Halo 2 started to lag extremely bad yesterday even before I get into any rooms. The friends list took a good few seconds to load up when I hit the "Y" button. That normally pops up instantly. Also the numbers 1 2 3 4 when I am going to "matchmaking" get all blury and take a few seconds to load. I looked at the game and somehow there are a few light scratches on it. I hope its the game and not the x-box. I will take the game and have the disk buffed and cleaned up. If it is the disk then make sure you are extra careful not to scratch the game because these are really small scratches. I might even rent a different game to make sure. I will give more details once I find out.
 
It shouldnt be a bad connection. I put in other games and they loaded fine and the connection seemed great. That was the first thing I looked at though. I even reset our modem. I am going to be shocked if these very tiny scratches end up as the problem. :guilty:
 
It's alwaysl ike that for me. It would take along time to load after a Matchmaking Game then when it does load my host have already begun and has it serching for games.
 
that happens to me sometimes, but it goes away.

I always assume it's my POS connection, or the live servers taking a hit...
 
I had the game resurfaced (polished) and they said the scratches were soo small there is no way it could have been from them.
I will have to assume it was the Halo 2 servers. Im just glad it works again. :)
