i was having an argument with my friends about FFVII being better than Halo, and i would like to see what you guys think.

Which is better OVERALL?

I think FFVII is because of the killer storyline and th addictive gameplay. i do, however, like FFVIII more than FFVII (contradictary to what most FF gamers think) but i know not everyone likes FFVIII as much as FVII.
 
I like FF VIII more then VII aswell.But anyway,it depends on what you like more.Halo is the best fps game on the X-Box and according to many FF VII is the best game for the PSX.I played both and i like FF VII more but that's just cause i like RPG's over FPS games.Warning though,FF VII has really bad graphics for todays standards.But that shouldn't stop you from getting this game,you'll be hooked for many many hours.

well, they're Halo fanboys. They said Halo was the best game ever, behind Zelda:OOT
 
Halo is no where near the best game ever (nor is Zelda: OoT). It just happens to be some people's favorite game at the moment and they confuse the two.

Exactly, it's like comparing Gran Turismo 3 to Dance Dance Revolution.

Just out of curiosity, what would you say is the best game ever.
 
Final Fantasy 7 even beats the gran turismo series, maybe. OK so they dont really compare.
i would say Final Fantasy 7 (IMO the best in the series) beats Halo it has an amazing storyline and i you get real satisfaction out of completing it since it is 3 discs long! plus there are loads of side quests to keep you busy. Halo is pretty linear (but still a good game don't get me wrong)
 
Halo is awesome but gets repetitious fast. Not many weapons to choose from not many monsters to slay, and a linear game once finished.

FFVII is a timeless RPG classic. With none of the above qualitys. Comparing an RPG to an FPS is like comparing an apple to an orange. However even though Halo has better graphics, and sound it doesn't mean it's a better game.
