Has anyone picked up the game yet?
I've been playing for the past 2 days and have to say it's the best RTS I've played in a long time! I'm very impressed with the multiplayer aspects especially and have been so distracted by the online matches that I've still yet to complete the Campaign
Does anyone have any favourite strategies they've developed?

I decided I am just going to rent it. Probably rent it next weekend. I have so many games I am backlogged on that I really need to get through them first.
Can you and friends play together against bots in the multiplayer just like in Age of Empires 3? I know the campaign is co-op I was just wondering about the multiplayer.

Yeah, it's in Skirmish mode, you can play 3v3, working as any configuration of human/AI players. One word of warning for that on Legendary/Heroic, they fight from the very start and the attacks never end, it makes for an epic fight for survival!
The Campaign mode is actually very short, it's only 15 missions and can be completed in around 5 hours so it wouldn't really take up too much of your time when you're worried about backlogging, unless you end up getting hooked on the multiplayer :p

Disappointing to hear the co-op is so short. Sounds like the skirmish is where its it. Heather and I used to play AOE3 online against the PC all the time. We would play the 2 of us on a team against 3 AI and some of the battles were well over 2 hours long. AOE3 pics

SWEET JESUS ON A POGO STICK!

It's out?! I've been waiting since i got news of it (for about +5 months) and I missed the release date?!

Is it a renter or should i save up my pennies to buy it?

Some stores had a midnight launch saturday night and others sold it on sunday which was strange. But its not supposed to be out until tomorrow Tuesday 3rd.

lol the stores are jumpin' the gun.

but either way some of you guy's must have it so what is the opinion on ownership?

For some reason Europe got the earlier release for once which I was very happy about!
It's worth buying just for the online IMO, I've had so many amazing games already and I've only played it 3 days so far, the gameplay is so balanced with the unit limit and it's difficult to gain the upper hand, I've already had a 2v2 that lasted about 80 minutes and a 3v3 that lasted somewhere over an hour, after the first 5-10 minutes of building it's practically all action and a frantic battle to snatch vital kills. The Campaign as previously mentioned isn't all that long, however it does get more and more epic as you continue and the cinematics are works of art, truly stunning.

STar Craft for the 360? I am addicted to the demo..i will probably buy it later.

There's a demo on that?
Well, I just got through playing halo wars on Heroic for the OVER 9000th time, and I gotta say it's way too easy to beat the computer, even on Heroic. I just get myself 2-4 vultures, 5 pyro units, 3 spartans, 1 scorpion, 1 cobra, and 1 of that other vehicle with the missile launchers, a hornet or two, and some room left over for ODST units, and I always win, nothing the can do about it. I sometimes leave the main base alone for as long as I can so the AI will have time to get itself an army. Once in a blue moon they get a scarab, and all I need are four MAC rounds.
tl;dr: They make it just a little too easy.

That's if you are used to strategy games? Does it operate the same way? gather resources, build units, send units to kill other units in style?

Yeah, it's about the same.
This is the starting line up in skirmish:
You are on one side of the map, and the enemy is on the other. You start out with 5 or 7 spaces for several 'bases':
Barracks
Nuclear Plant
Supply Factory.
After you get a nuclear plant (It ups the 'tech level' by 1 per plant/upgrade makes a plant worth two, and it allows/unlocks an item/base/whatever), you can then 'buy', with the supplies you have these 'bases':
Vehicle Depot
Air Depot
And a technologies plant that gives 'power ups' to your army (One more mac round, extra population, more powerful turrets, among other things).
And to do it in style, this is the way:
Vulture missiles, scorpions, missile launcher vehicle, and four continuous mac rounds and ODST drops.
They'll go down in a fiery crash.
An awesome fiery crash.

I've had this game for a while but I haven't played much of it yet... I love Halo but I'm not so much into RTS games so I've been hesitant. From what I can tell it's a pretty shallow learning curve though so I shouldn't have much trouble with it.

I've been playing on the Mythic maps that came with the limited edition though and they're pretty cool.

Finally found 2 copies of the game that we rented from 2 different rental stores.
Played the campaign for about 5 hours and beat 5 levels. Then played a skirmish game 2 vs 2. My gf and I against 2 AI.
So far it has been an ok game but I am glad I did not buy it. The campaign has been fun but as a huge RTS fan of the Age of Empires series and C&C series, this seems like a step backwards. Its just way too basic for me. I like sending people out for resources and base building. This game just does not have much to it at all and only having 40 soldiers makes the game feel very small. For people new to the RTS genre this is probably a great game but for the people that have been playing RTS for many years, this just seems like it is lacking in content. I do like how colorful this game is and the amazing cinemas.

Playing the Demo about the million times already. Probably my favorite momment is when I sent at least 18 Hunter Units for two enemy bases.

We finished level 7 yesterday and made it about half way through level 8. Level 8 is quite challenging for sure and might take us a few tries.
