Hi everyone,

I wanted to run by the GT planet community an idea that came to me. I thought it would be awesome to set up an online competition/series for players to log in and compete on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis. My first thought is to set up a possible website and forum where GT fans to log in and chat about the series, watch past series races and look ahead on possible new competitions.
Then I want to set up a competition where people pay an entry fee on the website to get a spot in the time trials race(s), I host on GT5 online. The top 2 players are put into a series where every week or so a scheduled race for those players to log on and race. 10+ races which contain placement points per race and at the end of the series the winning racer with the highest point total wins the cash prize. Different series and events would be set up so that players can choose what types of car best fits the style they think they could best compete in.
If anyone has extra ideas, complaints or etc. that would be extremely helpful. I’m just trying to see how interested the online/GT5 community would be about this online racing series idea. Thank you all for your responses.

If your looking for something like this try out the weekly driving skills competition or the fortnightly driving skills competition, both of which can be found under the 'gran turismo 5' section of the forums.

Still its a good idea, but see what you think of my competition. Thanks.

Charging money for online competitions and awarding real cash prizes? That definitely won't end in tragedy and argument, followed by the host simply stealing the cash.

That is true, i would think i could set up some kind of thing where if u didn't get to compete then wouldn't get charged. Also i was thinking, wouldn't this be considered gambling which wouldn't be allowed (probably) over the psn network.

Yea go ahead, lets see how fast they raid your house on gambling charges.. Xp

This thread is so against the AUP it's not even funny.

To be fair, this thread isn't - but any thread he follows up with this idea most certainly will be.

We're not going to let it be run here and we're not free advertising for a commercial venture.
