So I completely forgot to make this thread yesterday when it was my fifth anniversary of posting on GTP. I started my life here as a young Lotus enthusiast named eliseracer, something I picked up by reading issues of evo which I bought every now and then. 5 years later, I wouldn't have expected to be so enthralled in both Lotus knowledge and also GTP as a community.
My first post was in the GT3 section asking about save files and if they can be recovered or something. I was helped out kindly and promptly, so I stuck around. I didn't post much after that for a few reasons, but I was still around.
In early March 06, I had a discussion with neon_duke regarding name changes, something I wanted to do, but could not pull up the money for Premium. I got a firm no on the upgrade to hardtop and aerodynamic tweaks, so I just made a new account, exigeracer. I like it a whole lot more, but now that I have Premium, I doubt I'll change it again even if I've moved onto another handle in most other forums I frequent.
I'm halfway through my second bout of Premiumitis, something that I still haven't paid for myself yet. My first subscription was donated to me after a series of mysteries and errors. I had gotten into a rather daft and heated argument with Kent, who then later forwarded the messages to Der Alta so they could discuss how things were handled (this is what I got of it). In short, I got included in one of the classified PMs, so my inbox had to be wiped. In apology, I was offered Premium. Thanks Der Alta, all was forgiven.
My second subscription was courtesy of good ol' ultrabeat, who was kind enough to renew my presence in the gentleman's club called Premium. I still owe him a brewski for that one.
Anyways, I don't want to drag this out more than it needs, just a little thank you for making it an enjoyable stay. Thanks Danny for the laughs, thanks Dave A/live4speed, you've constantly been an amazing contributor to these boards, daan for letting us all laugh at your incredible punnery, ExigeEvan for being another kind Lotus dude around, TheCracker as well, considering he's the only one who can rightfully have lotusracer in his name on top of being a regular class act, Keef, who managed to put up with constant Del Sol hate, Wolfe, who I can't wait to enjoy e30 stories with when I finally get one, Azuremen, friendly guy. There's probably a few more key players, but those seem to be the ones I can think of right now.
Thanks to everyone else for supporting my various endeavors here, be it my car drawing, my Lotus thread in the Premium section or more recently my BMW thread and personal car photography endeavors or anything else I've gotten praise for. It means a lot. Here's to 5 more years and 5,089 more posts!
