I was board the other night so I decided to mess around with my car's tires a bit. I lowered the ASM and the TCS all the way down and changed my front tires to RACING SUPER SOFT and my rear tires to SIMULATION TIRES. Then I was test it out on the Test Course and I thought there was no difference, but then when that first turn came I spun and spun until I came to a complete stop, it was the first time I spun out on that track with out doing it on purpose. Lol, you all probably dont care but you should try it out, it will put the competition level back up in the game instead of easily winning the races.

Or run simulations all the way around ;) Personally I can't drive with them very well, but I think that has to do with the fact that they don't respond well to jerky inputs-I'm a diehard button user on the dual-shocks. What kind of controller are you using? I think after I get a wheel I will try and run everything with simulation tires.. If you wanna make it a lil harder, use the reverse method of shifting. (using the R button instead of the upshift. to get fast, precise shifts you HAVE to time letting off the gas, smacking the R button-at in or just before redline-, and getting back on the gas. otherwise you get a laggy' shift)

I use the stock controller that came with the PS2. I tried that method of shifting but I wasnt very familiar with it so I have to keep tryin. But with Super Soft tires in the front and Simulation tires in the rear makes your car turn a whole lot if you even slightly touch the diagonal buttons on a turn.

that could very well make some tracks impossible :) why not run sims all the way around and then have to learn the real way of setting up a corner?

In case you wanna try that shifting method again, here's a thing or two to keep in mind..

1. you gotta "upshift" RIGHT before or in the red. (this makes it a bit unrealistic, but that's where you wanna shift in a race anyways;)
2. you can't be bouncing off the revv limiter when you slap the R button. You gotta have smooth throttle input just before you shift.

It's pretty  once you get the hang of it, I think. ;)

I will try it again as soon as I get done trying to learn how to make good graphics with Macromedia Fireworks 4
