I have held off buying a 360 till I knew a game would be released that I would like, aka Forza 2. The question I want to ask "is the game worthy of a purchase of a 360?"

Serious answers please, I dont want any 360 fanboy talk, a direct comparison to GT4, in terms of gameplay mechanics and physics engines would be nice.

Thanks.

to tell you the truth I've never played Forza 1 , and I've been always a GT fan , but I bought my Xbox for this game, in teh same way I bought my PS3 for GTHD ;) ... I've played the demo and going to play the actual game on Wednesday when I get back home after finishing my exams... my intial reaction to the Demo that it was good , I will post to let you know what I think ..... as I'm far off being a fan boy but everybody I know who has an Xbox has bought this game so it must be worth it :)

Well I bought the 360 for PGR3 and also knowing that Forza 2 was gonna come out at some point. I bought mine around May '06. So far I've been pleased with my purchase. I like PGR3 a lot, and I also liked Gears of War, Lost Planet, Table Tennis and some other games I can't remember right now. Now that Forza 2 is out, I like this game very much. I think it's worth the price of a 360, but I do hope you plan to play online. The online career and exhibition races are very enjoying. I like the car selection, and the track selection is pretty good too, though I wish Road America was present.

I'm just trying to relate my purchase to what you're thinking about. In the past, I also bought an Xbox in 2004 so that I could play PGR2 mainly and I was very pleased when Forza came out because it instantly became one of my favorite games. I also bought a PS2 around GT4 launch just for GT4. That one I regretted a bit at the beginning, but after I got a DFP I was pleased much more with GT4 and also Guitar Hero has made good use of my PS2 as well.

So, yes I do think Forza 2 warrants a Xbox 360 purchase. Have you played the first one? Are you considering the other games available for 360 such as Gears of War, Lost Planet (or whatever game you may be interested in) as "bonus" games available on top of Forza 2?

i would definetly consider it, especially with TDU here and games like GTR and Tenchu Z on there way.

buy a cheap used one...?

Sounds like you have doubts and don't think I can say much to sway you to go out and buy one. All I'm into pretty much is racing games anyway, and both systems offer games that made me go and get them. I have a PS2 and GT4(along with GT3, TXR4, TXR: D 1 & 2, SRS, F&F Tokyo Drift, D1GP)also and love that game too. The 360 was more of an impulse purchase for me(got it last year) and picked up TDU and Import Tuner Challenge for my first games. I'm really into racing games and since the 360 offers the Forza series as competition for Gran Turismo I just had to add that to my collection. One thing for sure that GT4 doesn't offer that Forza has done off the jump is online multiplayer which extends the replay value. I love the Gran Turismo series but the $600 price tag of the PS3 will put me off GT5 whenever that gets released far in the future so it makes the $400 360 purchase(or $300 if you go for the core system NEW) not that bad.

You just have to look at what you want from the system, games offered that you'd be interested in and go from there. You probably question some of the games up there I have like SRS and F&F but yes I do enjoy those games still and didn't ask anyone before the purchase, I just researched the games and made my decision, and don't regret them at all. If you go ahead and get the 360 and Forza 2 then welcome to the community and enjoy all that comes with it.

Thanks for the replys so far. I have never played forza but have played PGR 1 and 2 and i didnt like them one bit. The idea of GTR is a good prospect that i didnt think about.

A few questions i want ask

1) does the DFP work with forza?
2) if no to the above question what does & is it any good?

I dont plan on buying any other games, as none of them interest me apart from Blue Dragon & GTR.

1- No
2- Xbox 360 steering wheel

I was like you at first didn't want buy an game , but there are some serious games out there ... I never thought in my life I would like Gear of War and guess what I LOVE IT

1. No.

2. The X360 Wireless Wheel even though it's a complete ripoff (no 900º steering, no stick shift) compared to the DFP. I heard the experience is decent, though. But I refuse to pay $130 for something that only works properly with 4 games (NFS Carbon, TDU, Forza 2, and PGR3).

Personally, Forza 2 isn't worth paying $400, $450 if you want to race online. But all the other games make the system worth it. Take a look at my 360 exclusive games list here, and see what titles interest you. Out now there's Gears of War, Viva Pinata (much more fun than it looks), PGR3, Crackdown, Dead Rising, etc. For the future, there's Halo 3, PGR4, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Too Human, Splinter Cell Conviction, etc. Those are some of the better games coming out, so go to IGN or something and look at some of the videos/photos/interviews.

Forza 2 and Blue Dragon = not worth buying a 360.

FM2, Blue Dragon, and everything else = worth buying a 360.

Just my 2¢.

Cheers Duck, Im not planning on buying any other games, Ive played TDU and TBH I would not P*** on it if it was on fire, rubbish IMO of course, PGR games have never appealed as I played 1 & 2 and didnt like them. All other games like GOW and Halo are not my type of games, Im an RPG and Racing fan along with a little bit of platforming thrown in, since the DFP dosnt work I think this has sealed the games fate and I wont be getting the game, unless I play it and really like it. Another nail in the coffin was the fact I would have pay extra to play a game ive already purchased just for online, thats just a rip off to me.

Watch this space, because I may have an xbox 360 sat next to the PS3 on saturday ;)

BTW Duck I possotive that when viewing this thread earlier on the PS3 it showed your user name on here as "Duk", weird.

Well I decided to get a 360 today, what swung it was the fact that Blue Dragon was out and it was part of a bundel with an Elite at the new lower price of £299. I got this and also got Forza 2. I wont be going online with it, at least not for the foreseeable future, but I may do after a year or so, it just depends.

I've been playing Forza for the last hour and I really like it, the handling is good and the graphics aren't too shabby, especially on the TV via HDMI.
