Long-term harrassment of fellow GTP members will not be tolerated. I don't care who does it to whom. It will stop immediately, or I will start summarily banning people.

With the exception of certain idiots who have no idea when enough is enough, everyone is tired of constant harrassment and bickering on this forum. Even if everyone isn't tired of it, I sure as hell am. Since Jordan has seen fit to put me in a position to enforce his rules, I'm going to enforce them. That means there will be no further harrassment of GTP members, particularly not by name. If you have avatars, custom titles, sigs, etc. that are poking offensive fun at another member, remove them now or prepare to find yourself in time out. If you habitually post after another member belittling them, stop it immediately. Continuing attacks against another member will result in banning; permanent or temporary. Since I can't unban people without requesting an Admin do it by hand, "temporary" can have a sliding definition - so I suggest you don't experiment with it. I am serious.

I thought that the posts from Der Alta and myself that closed out the "We demand to be Ultra Mods" thread might have gotten the point across. Apparently they did not. So I am spelling it out in clear words so that even the most single-minded of you can follow what I'm saying and understand it.

I am done screwing around and hoping you mental children will grow out of it. I am done watching this place get dragged down by a few people who cannot get over how cool they think they are. Move on with your lives. If you have a permanent problem with someone, put them on your Ignore list. That's a luxury in which I can't indulge. However, I am using the privleges I have been granted by the Owner of this site to do something about it, until he decides that what I am doing no longer fits his vision of his forum.

Believe what I am saying above.
 
I dont see anything wrong in this forum. In fact, compared to all the places I go, GTplanet seems the most quiet. You want a glass to pour your whine?
 
It should go both ways, IMO. If you get harrassed, it's because you're looking for it. You'll notice it's pretty much always the same people that revolve around this case, yet those people don't seem to be making an effort towards improving what they're picked on for.

Well, you shouln't. I know that a moderator is also a person and blah, blah, blah, but one of the reasons Jordan picked you as a moderator was because he probably knew you were capable of doing so. Instead of whining, you should do your work. Things like that are probably very common on GTplanet (according to you), so I dont see a reason to just go ballistic and make a post like this. I think you are losing it, and if you keep on doing this, Jordan better give the job to somebody more capable. You get it? It is like a seargent of the Army. You think he goes crying into his superiors how lame his group of soldiers are. Instead he takes it like a man and actually fix it.

He is doing his work. His job description, although I have not seen it on this forum, includes maintaining the peace. With people harassing the crap out of each other, peace will deteriorate. I agree with neon_duke on this one; it's time this stuff stopped. And you have no right to say that he's incapable. You have no idea what he's doing to help run this forum. So until you learn this, you better keep that trap of yours closed. Be glad that we have him, because he's one of the best moderators here.

BTW, the reason he's going ballistic is because it's wrong and it's been allowed to roam freely unchecked throughout the forums. Now, he's laying down the law and reinforcing that AUP which you agreed to follow when you signed up here. So until you decide to follow your own contract, get out and stay out.

He also doing his job, HE SHOULD BE DOING IT, after all he is the damn moderator.

He's not whining, he's doing his job. You're the one whining because you can't follow the rules you agreed to. And no, everyone else could not be moderators. Jordan hand-picks them and monitors them. Stop whining and badgering those in authority, or leave.

He's not whining to his superiors, he's whining to his soldiers. Think about. He isn't complaining to Jordan. This was the best course of action.
 
It's about time someone enforces these rules! I hate coming to these forums only to see that someone thinks I'm a ****ing moron.
 
I encourage people to harass me, but I guess I won't anymore. I don't see this as such a big problem. But what the **** do I know?

This place has some confrontation but I've seen worse (try the SPEED TV forums, you'll get charred if you overuse your keyboard)

Which, again, is exactly what he's doing. Instead of going to Jordan and yelling, "Help!!!", he's talking to his soldiers (as Tim very well put it), and telling them that there'll be less slack and that they better cut it out. I fail to see how he's "whining" or "not fixing it".


Because I don't want this to just be a congregation of random mud-slapping, I'll end with this:

Now that this has been initiated, I think it's everyone's responsibility to make sure we all treat each other with more respect. It sucks to be treated like a lowly piece of crud [openly] when at school; likewise, while this may be "just a 'net forum" to some, it's very much a home for many others - A place to talk about our lives, to be expressive, and to make friends. If you just have to detest someone so much, then at least don't do it here where they'll be humiliated. Common courtesy folks.
 
Damn,and just when GTP was getting fun.I'm just joking,but seriously I do think the the harassment as been getting out of hand although I have not been on here much lately,I still see it every time I browse around here.So if you don't like someone,or if they get on your nerves tell them and drop it.If they keep attentionality doing it then report them,but don't go calling people "****ing idiots"all thats going to do is cause bigger problems, and as for as I'm concerned makes that person a bigger dumb ass.As for as a post for it I don't think that it was necessary seeing that its mostly the same people.I personally think that he should of warned them them and if it continued ban them.

I think _duke putting his foot down is good. But, there is a fine line between "ribbing" another person and "harrasing" them. One of the things that makes this forum great is the "wise cracks" and "smart guy comments". If those are going to be stopped, things may become a bit tedious.

So what is a chap to do when someone makes the biggest, dumbass statement in the forum? Pat him on the back? Avoid the particular thread entirely? Some people deserve to be put in their place once in a while and tattle-tailing to the mods is a sometimes a cowardly, easy way out. I mean if some a-hole is beating on you in real life, you are gonna beat him back, not ask him to stop and go and call the police.

I think _duke needs to define what exactly harrasement constitutes, so harmless banter doesnt lead to a Banned in the avatar
