After a couple of painful hours, I was finally able to purchase the FormulaGT as it is required for the one last race I was missing. Excited to finally finish off this series and possibly hope the Red Bull special event would appear, I gave it a shot. Well, the AI in the series is a little more aggressive than I was anticipating. I wonder if the game's AI has trouble performing the necessary calculations on this many extremely fast cars. I only gave it a few laps on the first race before quitting; due to a combination of thinking I probably wouldn't have the 2-3 hours free to complete the series, and fear that it might be a little too difficult for me to risk the time at the moment.

I don't remember the F1 championship event in GT4 being very tough, but this one certainly looks like it might be. This race is a level 23 event so I figured it would probably be a little easier than the level 24 championship which was actually really easy.

Has anyone else made it this far? I'm still curious to know what happens when you finish the series off. I know the prize car will be a Ferrari F1 since you'll probably be awarded a level 24 reward car at the end.

What did you use to beat Like the Wind? I discovered the hard way that a NASCAR isn't enough. I should have know better

Yeah, I thought the NASCAR would work there too, but it was a rude surprise. I used the 787B which I had to buy myself. The pains of having the game 5 days early meant no stealth cars :(

Are you actually making some respectable money at the extreme level?

Sorta/kinda. Not like the Special Events, but both the American and European car championships are based around 5 lap individual races, all of which can be completely extremely quickly (like Indy oval and Rome) for 80-98k. I've had to grind a lot :(

The special events are only good money if you can get gold on them in a reasonable amoun of time lol

I've been running the gt world championship in the pro series for money (and practice) using my 1256HP Bugatti Veyron. I absolutely annihilate them but it takes a while to do. Unfortunately the AI like to be real jerks to me during Nurburgring and send my death machine careening into the walls with a cheap bump when I pass them. Considering my Veyron takes 500,000 to do the engine overhaul and another 500,000 to do the chassis maintenance I'm debating over whether it's making me much of a profit lol

Ah well good experience on the Nurburgring at least!

Do you know offhand if getting gold on any of the events will net me a worthwhile unlock? It seems plenty of people have gotten gold on the events and licenses bur they don't take note of what they unlock to inform the rest of us poor schlubs. :ouch:

The Veyron was the first good unlock in the game for me. Since then I've won the Minolta Group C car and Ford GT LM Spec II racer, which are the only 2 prize cars really worth anything. None of the unlocks in the game are particularly great, including the license tests. All golds on the AMG driving school could be pretty good since the last race is level 24, but all golds on that event is gonna be extremely difficult.

I'll try the F1 race again tomorrow, but I'm really interested to hear other people's feedback since it seems like a drastic increase in difficulty compared to anything else. I wouldn't be surprised if there was enough rabble to try and get PD to patch it easier.

I tried out the level 26 Miata endurance race and it's gonna be a cakewalk.

Where exactly are the endurance races? I'm lvl 21 and I have yet to see it. Am I looking in the wrong place or does it pop up when your lvl is high enough?

I'm on level 24 at the moment. I used the pagani R that you can buy from the dealer for the "Like the Wind" races.

Where do you buy the formula GT exactly?

i only have the "Historic super cars" , "German touring cars" and "Formula GT" competitions left and then im done with A-spec.
