Has anyone managed to lose a car part due to damage?

I was a bit tired of racing last night, so thought I'd get this trophy by doing time trial on Trial Mountain and do nothing but crash and roll my car over on the last few bends.

I spent 40 minutes constantly crashing in to barriers and rolling my (premium) Civic Type R over. There was plenty of damage, but nothing would fall off the car. Strangely my wing mirrors also stayed intact after numerous barrel rolls too... Maybe Honda's are just built well! :)

i've been wondering the same thing. i have tried numerous cars and tracks with no luck.

No luck for me, but I have only tried two cars.. the McClaren and a Camaro SS

Yes. I did it with the Subaru WRC '08 from Dealership (850,000 cr).

Yes. Door of my Ford WRC in arcade mode.

hmm, the only two cars so far are WRC cars, maybe it's only those that can lose parts?

Thanks for your help. I'll try again when I've got round to buying / winning a WRC car. How long did it take to destroy it?

Citroen WRC, about 15 minutes of constant crashing on Eiger. I'm pretty sure PD told us the only cars to lose parts would be ones with roll bars.

It seems you can do this, but only on sports premium cars like WRC, GT etc. On street legal cars I never saw or hear that happening.

You can do it for free (without having to buy or win a premium WRC car) in arcade mode and still get the trophy.

If you are a lower level, don't expect much damage as in panels falling off.

I'm level 20 (or 21? I forget) at the minute.

Ta for the tip, I'll give it a go.

I did it with the Citroen C4 on Trial Mountain in Arcade, after about 10, 15 minutes of ramming walls and other cars trying to get the front bumper to come off, a door suddenly popped off instead. I also flipped the car at the same time (which is why I was on Trial Mountain), for that trophy to work you have to flip and stop on your roof. After a while the mechanical damage makes this a bit harder as your car seems to only be able to go 75mph after a lot of crashing, and mine was pulling to the right quite severely.

Also stop with the myth that damage is level based, it's just not true...

If you want the trophies, its best to do it in arcade if you want to pay no penalty for the damage.

If you just don't like arcade, any stealth or chromeline car will be able to do it and the only penalty is 1,000 cr. (500 each).

If you like wasting money, by all means, use another car.

You do not need to chassis refresh after a wreck... It is related to wear only, like from a lot of racing.

You can wreck all you want in A-Spec, there is no penalty.

We really need a myth busting thread and make it compulsory reading...

Look at it logically. I'm going to drive a car in Arcade that I don't have in GT Life. How would I pay for damage for a car that I don't use nor own in another mode.
